Don't buy a Kansas album. I say this not only because I don't endorse their brand of soft rock pop prog but because you could always pick up the entire Kansas discography on vinyl at someones garage sale for 5 bucks later on.

After the first order i think i'll order these, what do you think?
Rush - 2112 - A Farewell to Kings - Hemispheres - Permanent Waves - Moving Pictures
Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed - Every Good Boy Deserves Favour - On the Threshold of a Dream
Caravan - For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night - In the Land of Grey and Pink
Banco Del - Darwin! - Io Sono Nato Libero
PFM - Per Un Amico - Storia Di Un Minuto - L'Isola di Niente
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats - Uncle Meat - The Grand Wazoo - Absolutely Free
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Genesis - Nursey Cryme - A Trick of the Tail - Trespass
Mike Oldfield - Amarok - Ommadawn
And then 3 Magma albums, but what should i get of Magma?

Nice. A lot of the essentials of Prog in there. Although I'm with Logan that I'm quite suprised that you've listened to bands like Art Bears and Gong but haven't listened to the well-known classics yet. |
It depends where you're coming from. I was a fan of avant-garde jazz before regular jazz, and there are still a fair amount of classic bands that I haven't heard a full album from and probably never will.
