Foo Fighters, followed by Devo.
Foo Fighters- the most lamest song writing I've ever heard, I've never actually heard those guys play a single tune. David Grohl should just stay behind the drumkit. Devo= cool image but poor song writing. No wonder Frank Zappa ridiculed them on Tinseltown rebellion.

Have you ever heard the supposed "bass" in Korn? All it sounds like most of the time is something clicking. That alone is enough to make them the worst on the list IMO.

As much as I dislike some of these, they all have some artistic value in one way or another. Mainly the worst non-prog band is probably some guys we have never heard of. I'm sure there are worse.
However, I think Five Finger Death Punch are pretty terrible.... |
I really dont think that bands like nickelback have any artistic value, but that really isnt what they are aiming for anyway. Unrelated, the picture in your signature is awesome
|
Yeah, Nickelback is pretty horrible, though they made one original song (don't ask me which one). Of course they remade that original song over and over again...
Thanks.

Actually take my vote back. The worst band in the world is Anal c**t.
However, through being the worst band in the world, they are the best band in the world.

Along with countless others, I am curious as to why 1989 (and I assume that includes 1989 bands too) is the cut-off here. Did something specific happen in the world of music that preordained that bands formed from that date onwards would be incapable of creating anything of worth?
I notice from your list of bands that you do like they are not restricted to Progressive Rock and contain a number of new-wave and post-punk bands, genres that extended well into the 90s and beyond - for example bands like The Cranberries, Belly and Miranda Sex Garden would fit well in you list of bands you Ought To Check Out.

I voted other, in this case the B52's. There simply cannot be another amalgamation of carbon based lifeforms with a common purpose more irritating than this group.
