..looking at that the Zune wouldn't be my first or second choice... 4 hours battery life - what the hell is it powering? Confused

my 120g zune gets way longer battery life i think it's like 16-20 hours
..when playing audio files - the quoted 4 hours was for video.

I LOVE Zunes! Way better than iPods, in my opinion. They sound better, have solid-state hard drives (hence more reliable), live longer, have a better interface, and the marketplace is way better that what apple has for their players.

This all opinion, of course, but I think Zunes get a bad rap for no reason. It's funny as hell to me how Mac computers get slayed  by most people, yet iPods are loved by everyone, even if they hate Apple products.

LOL

^ I think most manufacturers have given up on microdrives over solid state flash for all players under 16Gb. Anything over that is going to be 1.8" or 2.5" hard disc.

^ I don't think the gtfo is out yet so I can't vote, but it can't be less reliable than the iPod.

I am seriously thinking about getting a Zune. I am sick and tired of my Sansa deleting songs because of corrupted data, not to mention a dozen more annoying things that it does. I've recently been researching Zunes and they seem like a great improvement over my current Sansa e280. The $200 price tag isn't very appealing to my wallet though. Dead

In my opinion, though, you're not gonna find a better machine for the money. iPods are unreliable (IMO) and every other mp3 player is just imitating these two.

It's worth it, believe me. I'm very happy with my 80gb Zune.Big smile

I was actually very close to starting a mp3 player thread in the Tech section (should this one be there?), I have seen the specs, which were good, but I don't like putting money into hardware until I have heard peoples personal opinions about them. I am quite sure that I am going to go for one now, especially since I just made $500 painting/sealing my mom's cousin's basement (which is hard work since she's a dog breeder and her basement is packed with cages and pet grooming paraphernalia), and my graduation party should generate a fair amount too. Smile

^ Many people have said that Zunes have better audio quality than iPods, if that means anything.

Some people are just anti-Microsoft, though, and won't listen to reason.

I thought about getting a Zune myself, but I don't really want to spend more than about (CAN) $60 on an mp3 player.

I can give some input here at least on the Zune itself, I know nothing of this 15$ a month for music thing.  Two of my friends have had Zunes for a few years and they've outlasted everybody else I know's Ipods and everything.  And it has enough space, so other than that I don't know what would matter since it's all equal mp3 quality
