I really don't understand how somebody could think Eraserhead is a good movie.

Tough poll! I will go for Eraserhead, it appeals to my twisted sense of humour

The atmosphere. It really felt like I was having a sleepless night in a broken-down apartment complex next to a power plant. The soundtrack consisting of industrial music and white noise was icing on the cake. It's dreary and bleak like no other film I've seen. And I just really like movies that make you go "WTF!"

I haven't seen The Elephant Man or The Straight story, but I doubt either would take the top spot. I'd have to say Mulholland Drive followed by Lost Highway are my favorites. On the flip side, I absolutely despise both Wild At Heart and Inland Empire.

Mulholland Drive
Lost Highway Wild at Heart Elephant Man Inland Empire Dune I do own Eraserhead but have yet to see it. And I've been hunting after Blue Velvet for ages now but it isn't available in Norway. ![]() Edited by Bj-1 - July 21 2012 at 10:34 |

Eraserhead - bleak, enigmatic and bizarre. Possibly my favourite movie of all time, along with 2001.

I'll give it to Elephant Man, but I really like most of the movies here.

I haven't seen all of these. (Straight Story / Lost Highway) However, I really like all of those I have seen. Problem is I haven't seen them for ages. Wild at Heart when it came out was great I would have to see it again to see if I still liked it but I will vote for .....and she wore ....... can't help singing the title whenever I see it written..... |

A movie doesn't have to be good by whatever standards to leave a lasting impression and be one's favourite, of course. It appeals to my peculiar sensibilities. I have seen seven of these (at least the I remember). I don't think I've seen Lost Highway, though I think I rented it once. Haven't seen the Straight Story or Inland Empire. I vote for Eraserhead too. |

I've actually seen a majority of these movies on the list, but I'm going with Twin Peaks since the show was fantastic and the movie helped to tie some loose ends up.

Lynch and Kubrick are my biggest favourites among film makers.
I vote Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Two other favourites are Inland Empire and Lost Highway.
Inland Empire is a must! Very long and maybe confusing, but it has got some fantastic moments. |

^ Great! I think you'll enjoy it. It's shot with DV videocamera, so it's a bit rough.
