David Lynch is along with Kubrick my favorite director. So pick... that´s it...
I´m going with Mullholand dirve, which is one of my favorite movies ever. After that... it´s a toss between Inland Empire and Blue Velvet

I could have sworn there was a Lynch poll already.
Eh, whatever, the answer is Mullholland Dr. Far and away the best thing he's ever done, and that's counting Twin Peaks.
My best of:
1. Mullholland Dr. 2. Twin Peaks (since I'm only counting the episodes he was around for and not that mid-season 2 absence this is some serious quality) 3. Blue Velvet 4. Eraserhead 5. Inland Empire

Lynch is probably my favorite director and Twin Peaks is my favorite work by him, but since that's not an option, I went with Mulholland Dr.

Mulholland! Straight Story was actually my first Lynching, but I didn't know Lynch then, but still thought it was pretty good. Mulholland rocked my world though. I love it. In fact maybe I'll watch it tomorrow because its been a while.
Inland Empire was realllllllllllly crazy. Took me a bit to finish it. Blue Velvet was amazing too. Elephant Man a bit more straight, but still well done. Wild at Heart is probably my second favorite with Lost Highway following.
Oh almost forgot about Fire Walk with Me! Also brilliant, and tense. Hopefully, the man takes a break from all that meditation school business and starts another film soon.

I voted Dune because the sleeper must awaken. ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif)
I was in college and went to see it several times. I didn't pay any attention to who was the director, just liked the movie. Became a Lynch fan with Twin Peaks then Wild At Heart came out and that pretty much cemented it for me. Loved all the ones he did after that. Inland Empire has been a bit hard to stomach. Good stuff to watch if you're up late and there's nothing but crap on.

Blue Velvet. I thought Dennis Hopper's character was one of the most deranged in movie history.

It wasn't until I was well into my 30's before I could really "get" Elephant Man. Now I think its absolutely brilliant.

Lost highwat because it's the only one that i can understand for two thirds of the movie. I liked Mulholland Drive until the middle of the movies where i was lost. But now i know it's the essence of Lynch to make movies where you never know the separation between reality and dreams.

The atmosphere. It really felt like I was having a sleepless night in a broken-down apartment complex next to a power plant. The soundtrack consisting of industrial music and white noise was icing on the cake. It's dreary and bleak like no other film I've seen.
And I just really like movies that make you go "WTF!"

I haven't seen The Elephant Man or The Straight story, but I doubt either would take the top spot. I'd have to say Mulholland Drive followed by Lost Highway are my favorites. On the flip side, I absolutely despise both Wild At Heart and Inland Empire.

Mulholland Drive Lost Highway Wild at Heart Elephant Man Inland Empire Dune I do own Eraserhead but have yet to see it. And I've been hunting after Blue Velvet for ages now but it isn't available in Norway. ![Ouch Ouch](smileys/smiley18.gif)

I haven't seen all of these. (Straight Story / Lost Highway) However, I really like all of those I have seen. Problem is I haven't seen them for ages. Wild at Heart when it came out was great I would have to see it again to see if I still liked it but I will vote for .....and she wore ....... can't help singing the title whenever I see it written.....

A movie doesn't have to be good by whatever standards to leave a lasting impression and be one's favourite, of course. It appeals to my peculiar sensibilities.
I have seen seven of these (at least the I remember). I don't think
I've seen Lost Highway, though I think I rented it once. Haven't seen
the Straight Story or Inland Empire. I vote for Eraserhead too.

I've actually seen a majority of these movies on the list, but I'm going with Twin Peaks since the show was fantastic and the movie helped to tie some loose ends up.

Lynch and Kubrick are my biggest favourites among film makers.
I vote Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Two other favourites are Inland Empire and Lost Highway.

Inland Empire is a must! Very long and maybe confusing, but it has got some fantastic moments.

But rough is fine with me too. I'm looking to forward to it. Off on a trip soon, and will see it after I get back.
