The bands you like are not jam/improvisional like the bands you don't like.

Some DT, Flower King and Transatlantic material tenders to meander. Some Marillion, Pendragon and IQ material tends to be pop song formulaic.

There is good and bad in both.

they sound perfectly natural to me, i can't really understand what point you are trying to make, perhaps you mean the recording and mastering sounds sometimes may sound digital? many mainstream pop groups  could possibly be accused of that, but dream theater, i don't think so!

"i cant understand why a lot of people of this site like these bands Dead"

.......a rather careless statement on this site -  be careful! (i've made a few myself!!!)

Your intent would have been more clear if you had used an emoticon after your statement(a laugh, smiley,a wink,etc.).

I'm guessing you haven't actually seen TMV live? I've _never_ seen that much equipment on one stage. Their sound engineers must have giant ulcers! LOL

Both The Flower Kings and Dream Theater are perfectionist bands, they try to sound the same on stage as in the studio (Dream Theater more than The Flower Kings).

That's neither good nor bad. If you want a band that does more improvising or plays their songs differently each night, you simply shouldn't go to a Dream Theater concert.

^ Well, they do have some improvisation - like the Instrumedley or the different solos (keys/guitar/drums) on Live at Budokan. But I agree that these sound quite "overnatural".

When i saw Live At Budokan for the first time i said "wow, Overnatural" . But i said that because they was playing in an unbealivable skillfull way, i don't like much Portnoy's drumming style, i prefer a more jazzy style of drumming, but in Live At Budokan, Portoy's performance was Enormusly Amazing. Myung is another overnatural player, he never makes a mistake.

and i don't agree with Violator

maybe they are trying to be perfectionisits some times but you can not judge them like this in general as they have moments of music brilliance
