Implying that one has to be infantile or immature to appreciate their music. Oh dear, what does that say about everyone here?
Still, we cant all be as mature and sophisticated in our tastes as you, I guess.

I still think they suck. I've seen them about six times and they're one of the most unexciting live acts. Rush is goof-rock and I don't even understand how they can be classified as a prog-rock band. Here we go again with the what is/what isn't prog argument.

Signals is actually a good album. But Moving Pictures is by far the best ever. Followed closely by 2112, Hemispheres, Grace Under Pressure and A Farewell To Kings.
Vapor Trails is not a bad album, got some exciting songs like Ghost Rider, One Little Victory, Earthshine, How It Is and Peaceable Kingdom.

Moving Pictures. it's the only flawless album of their career.
Permanent Waves is a close second but Entre-nous lets it down slighly.
I reiterate once again(to the fury of the many)... Hemispheres (at least side one) sucks.

There was me thinking he was a seasoned mature progger
He told me he was at the Montreal spectrum the night Marillion recorded 'Real to Reel' Ha! Nevermind I wont let on.
Anyway, I mean no disrespect to VB. He's entitled to his opinions as we all are. I just get stroppy when people sl*g Rush off. I'm immature like that myself.
For the record I fully endorse all infantile behaviour. Its keeps us young!!

I voted for Signals, though I like (almost equally) all of their 80s albums. (Relax, I like Hemispheres too! )
Great band. Unmistakable live. Cold, precise, calculating... that's where their charm lies.

I think Moving Pictures, so many good songs in it, Limelight, Tom
Sawyer etc etc.. not much of a variety since it was a rather small
album but quality definitely beats quantity..
So aye, Moving Pictures.

"Moving Pictures" is without doubt their peak and best album, but my favourite Rush album is "Grace Under Pressure", it got a special atmosphere (very key-dominated) and my favourite Rush song: "Afterimage" (often overlooked classic).
