You are right in that many Floyd fans know and love this album and aknowledge the value it has in the development of their sound but in the wider perception of what PF actually is (ie. the general public), Meddle is hugely overlooked. Most people think that 'Dark Side..' was Floyd's FIRST album for god's sake!!

They should teach the history of Pink Floyd in schools

I've always liked this album... Echoes is wonderful.. .altho I do like the live version on the Pompeii video better...

I'm in an Animals frame of mind this month tho.... can't get enough of "Dogs"

Couldn't agree more! Dogs is my top Floyd song of all time, and Animals my top Floyd album

Classic!

Its not that I'm prog obsessed or anything but last night I dreamt that Pink Floyd were playing in my back garden. But, my back garden was the grounds to a huge mansion, all shrouded in early morning mist. Floyd were set up on the shores of a lake, and Dave Gilmour was giving his plectrums away to me and my girlfriend. Is that normal?? Should I seek help?

Right now its my favorite PF album also... Actually I think its very important in the scheme of things (being PF's legacy).  DSOTM was wonderful, but I think Animals solidified their mark on the idea of concept albums... no one was better at it than them...

Don't worry BW... I have that same dream all the time, altho David is giving me something completely different...

Guitar lessons??

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!
