Tarkus is my favourite track. It's one of the best pieces of music I ever heard. Lots of great musical ideas, Emerson plays incredible harmonies (much inspired by Ginastera if I'm not mistaken) and I love the contrast between Emerson's complex, brooding stuff and Lake's simple but wonderful and open sounding songs, sung with great feeling and accompanied by beautiful, imaginative lyrics.

So: bravo for Tarkus!

Wher the Jesus resides!
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Oh yeah, I LOVE Jersusalem as well.

But, Tarkus is much holier...

I think you'll find that no one in ELP designed the actual record cover!

I love every single note and tone in Tarkus. The playing in this song is one of the most impressive in prog. This huge song is colourful, inspired, entertaining and even funny.

That dreadful album cover makes this album even better ¡¡¡. Just as bizarre as to show it to your poppy friends and say: "Look at this. This is a real gem, not exactly Kiss´, Metallica´s and Korn´s crap". And watch their faces while they think my music is crap, dated and boring.

This album cover is an "IN YOUR FACE ¡¡¡"  image. Something to feel pride for prog.

Whoa- I can't believe I'm the first to vote The Three Fates! It was a mix between that and Take a Pebble (mind you the piano melody for Take a Pebble is heard often in The Three fates)

Just heard Tarkus for the first time yesturday- it's snazzy but it hasn't had enough time to grow on me. I must say- that electronic DUCK towards the end is fantastic!

What are you taking about I think that idea is f**king sweet. The world would be a better place if there were armadillo/tanks everywhere.

I voted Tarkus only cause karn9 was split up

Well McGarnical Billy is dead! They slit his throat from ear to ear!

TARKUS - The most diverse ELP album musically and the one that really introduced me to their music

For the umpteenth time, Tarkus - an unadulterated prog masterpiece! The more I listen to it, the more I find to love.

Good choice!

Karn Evil 9: 1st impression is absolute my favourite ELP song, there's so much going on in that song.
