It's an insult that this crap Steven Wilson album is at number two. Comparing this album to "Ok Computer" is complete nonsense.

The only list he deserves to be on is the most disappointing albums of 2021

it's just a list and lists are subjective. One could agree or disagree, that's all.

Coming from something calling itself Prog Magazine, I find this list quite silly, but magazines will always magazine.

If I made a list of the best prog magazines, PM would not be on it.

I like the new Mollestad album though.

They always seem to have the same bands from the same labels. Also, it's almost like Steve Wilson pays them to have an album in their list no matter what it sounds like. Confused

I own and have heard 4 of the albums . 
Frost* - Day and Age is my favourite album of the year. Also a fan of BBT and Steve Hackett and both will feature high up in my list as well.
Steven Wilson. I guess this is included for 'political' reasons. They probably don't want to get on his wrong side and so for self survival reasons are buttering him up a bit. That's my guess. It's a 3 star album and honestly I do like some of the tracks on it but NO2 for the year is very perplexing.
BTW I don't have any problem with Iron Maiden being included in a prog list whatsoever! (but I've not heard the album)

their long(er) songs after Brave New World (some songs there are repetitive, but it not annoying, at least not then, but starting with the next album) are like that. Predictably there is a pattern and it gets old.

I still buy Big Bang Magazine (France) and Prog-résiste (Belgium). There are more "progressive" discoveries in these magazines than on Internet for me. And for metal music, I read Rock Hard.

I honestly thought there was nothing here worth while. I endured most of this list that I hadn't heard already. Actually, the Isildur's Bane/PH album is fantastic. Just weird and complex enough to hold my interest. Will likely make my list.

Most of the list is pretty pedestrian and very borderline progressive by my standards.

And you are SOOOOO right for saying it. In a year that has some extremely innovative prog ranging from Black Midi in avant to Ad Nauseum in tech/extreme and other outstanding releases such as Shamblemaths and many, many more, this list should be called the best crossover prog list.

Granted it's getting harder and harder for anyone to keep up with it all though!

The Black Midi and Ad Nauseam records are simply amazing!
