Love Vander's playing but I'm a Gong fan. Moerlen.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Vander, but these are all great original drummers. I would add Jaki Liebezeit to this list.

I'm guitarist and songwriter for the prog-related band Mother Bass. Find us at http://www.motherbass.com. I also enter stages throughout the Netherlands performing my poetry.

Oh I voted too fast. I saw Christian Vander and immediately cast my vote. Then I saw Tatsuya Yoshida. He’d get my vote if I could have a redo. One of my biggest influences as a drummer. I saw him live at The Stone in... maybe 2006?

I'll vote for him on your behalf, brilliant drummer, seen him a few times in various bands, Ruins, Koenjihyakkei, Korekyojinn and sitting in on other bands. I'm torn between Tatsuya, Denis, Cutler, Vander, Kerman but can't bear to see him with no votes.

5uus make my teeth move about, so Kerman. Though Cutler and Moerlen are wonderful, too.

interesting... two of the best on there..
Vander who just might be my favorite traditional bottom up drummer (by a hair over Carl Palmer) and Cutler.. but as he is only my 2nd favorite top down drummer (but way behind the master himself.. Keith Moon) giving the vote to Vander

Impossible to vote. They're all outstanding drummers with some of my favourite bands, so it's like being asked to pick out one of your children. I've been lucky to see four of them live (Cutler, Vander, Kerman and Denis), and remember being absolutely mesmerized by Daniel Denis when Univers Zero performed in DC in 2010.

Moerlen, Pyle and Vander are in my top 5 prog drummers.
Yoshida, Cutler and Denis are fantastic too. Not familiar with Kerman yet. Voted Pyle. |
