OK, I'll pick one of the jazz phase ones first.  I see Audun listening to Phanerotyme a lot on the Listening thread, maybe I'll get that next.  Thanky.

Streaming it first before I buy.  Sounds very good.

I am watching the first Harry Potter movie right now.  I watched it on Christmas a few years ago, but fell asleep during it and don't really remember much about it.

Got a Joanna Newsom album and a Mr. Bungle album in the same shipment today.  I went for eclectic choices with this order.

Got the debut this time around, I'll get Have One On me soon enough...Ys is still probably supreme though. Wink

And Disco Volante.

All in all, today I got these in the mail:

Joanna - Milk-Eyed Mender
Bungle - Disco Volante
Battles - Mirrored
Air - Moon Safari
Tycho - Dive
Arvo Pärt - The Very Best of Arvo Pärt (2-disc set which has gotten pretty great reviews overall).

Disco Volante is the best of their 3 albums. I'll be honest, I only listened to their last album once 6 years ago....

I like California pretty well too, and what bits I've heard of the debut.  Though I figured I'd buy this one first. I have the most history with it (used to hate it, then was indifferent, then hated again, then indifferent again, now finally enjoy).

The first Mr. Bungle can be described as "Red Hot Chili Peppers" on mushrooms (as a friend of mine once put it). But it's more than that, though the funk influence is definitely felt throughout, more like that late 80s/90s funk, but still. Disco Volante is more eclectic (and weirder and crazier than the debut).

That's coming from someone who isn't a big fan of Zappa - obviously. LOL
