I forgot about Hot Rats. His most popular album among prog lovers. (Apostrophe is probably his most popular album overall).

Also, check out Over-nite Sensation, which is the companion album to Apostrophe.

The second line in this song rhymes with mice
Cause rhyming a song makes the song sound nice
But I wouldn't let anyone else shake cheese on my pizza for any price

Actually any album from 1966-1978 should be enjoyed. After that, it depends on your taste and might take time to appreciate (I love Zappa's late 70s/80s and 90s work). The humor got cranked up a lot, but at the same time, so did the seriousness of some of his work.

I completed my top album list for MMA today.  I ended up listening to 60 new metal albums this year, so what is that about .006 of all metal releases?  I did list my top 30 of these, although it was kind of a toss of a coin on many of them.  Oh well.  Now on to ranking my top 10 prog albums.  Again, I will probably hear less than 5 percent of all releases that could be called prog for the year from which I will try to pick my 10 favorites.  Oy!

I think that I definitely need to try and listen to the new Motorpsycho album before year end.  I've heard many good things about that one so I think that I should at least try and check it out.  Also, Clockwork Angels is making a bit of a run for the top down the stretch for me.  I have been reading the book and it has really seemed to help enlighten the album for me.

Hey Agi,  I have the latest Motorpsycho and like it a lot.  What would your GUT REACTION be if I asked you to recommend me ONE new Motorpsycho album to try?  I will buy whatever you say, as long as you promise me it is your gut reaction, and it's one and only one album.  Seize the power.
