Joseph Gordon-Levitt was pretty good in Premium Rush.

Nope. Just trying to listen to as much metal as I can in as short of time as possible. That way I've only missed 950 releases from 2012 instead of a 1000.

I haven't listened to as much this year as last, that's for sure, but when I went back and actually checked release dates there were a lot of albums from early in the year I had forgotten about
though most of those not exactly metal

I've listened to more albums categorized as hard rock, instead of metal. I've been trying to add some metal albums to my listening too. I've listened to a couple recently that I think will make my list. This Kreator album is really good.

The new Overkill and new Testament were both pretty good thrash albums, but this one is definitely better. I'll have to go back and check out their earlier releases.

The Formation of the Damnation is honestly probably Testament's best. It absolutely crushed the 2000's "comeback" albums by Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer

I should get Dark Roots of Earth, but I know it won't be in time to change my MMA list. I'm fairly satisfied with it anyway, just getting my final tweaks on order

I've only heard the title track of the Formation of Damnation. I'll have to check that out too.

I have a question for you all: what do you think was the most annoying song of 2012? (not necessarily prog)
I just want to see how many people don't answer with Gangnam Style.

I may be buying a bass soon in order to play John the Fisherman at my school's talent show. I could probably use some talent, though.

I don't think I've heard Gangham Style. Lucky me. The only two big 2012 hits that come to mind are two songs I actually don't mind that much -- "Call Me Maybe" and "What Makes You Beautiful". Overplayed as hell (even for someone like me who avoids commercial pop), but not bad at all.
