You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Given the amount of cash flowing from American taxpayers directly into corporate coffers right now via the bailout of the week, whatever that may be, I think the credibility of those uber-capitalists in the CEO ranks smells a little fishy.

Will the real socialists step forward?    What we really have going on here now is "trickle-up" economics.
Let's get corporate welfare under control before we start whining about poor people and their food stamps...

I think someone made that point 10 pages ago, but I've missed a good portion of the thread so I'm not sure how it ended...

Big smile I even have a recording of a Newfouldland folk song with the word in it:

The Gay Gunners

"...So come all ye gay gunners, take a warning by me
If you're going out gunning, you're not going to a spree
Be sure to carry water and plenty of prog
Steer away from the headlands, beware of the fog...."

Ermm I'm not sure how prog would help you if you were lost in a boat in the fog while hunting seabirds, but there it is.... LOL

It is indeed highly ironic that this kind of subvention comes up in a state that has almost become synonymous with "free enterprise", and there is only one explanation for it: The overblown financial bubble would burst if these banks collapsed. It is not the mortgages (that is indeed nothing but a clever decoy), it is the overblown stock market. Most of the papers are not even worth a tenth of the price they are currently being sold at. If THAT bubble burst it would be much worse than it is now.

Well, when people announce their temporary departures are they not opening themselves up to about anything?  I do try and stay away from mean comments though I may not always succeed. Big smile

I can be a pretty wide target myself, so folks can feel free to sling away without worrying I'll be overly sensitive or easily offended.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
