Nice, finally we're getting back to some racing.
The last few weeks I've been relying on nascar and wathcing the Yankees lose! ![LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
Indy? As in the 500?
I forgot that was in May. Damn, came fast...

Yes the 500, its the Month of May, you know, and despite it being an oval race its still one of motorsports top spectecles.

Hey, I've lost track of time for a while.
And I'm not a big fan of Indy cars, but it's cool, and as you said it's one of the Big 3 races. How can we miss it?

I'm not much of an Indy Car fan myself either, I prefer CC to IRL, but its a big race.

Looks like it might be a good year since Forsythe and Team Australia seem able to offer Newman-Haas some real opposition this time (really the first time since 03).

Yea, there hasn't even been any champ car races at least. I've been relying on NASCAR.
So, who's your bet for this race? I will continue to say Hamilton until he wins.

I think either of the McLarens are a safe bet (I would say that tough as I'm biased against Ferrari). I think the if Hamilton keeps up his current lelvel of performance he could win a few this year and he is certainly a championship contender.

Indeed, the gap has been horrible. All I been able to watch on TV was the BTCC (British Touring Car Cahmpionship) and that was terrible, should be renamed the BBCC (British Bumper Car Championship) IMO.

I've missed rounds 2 and 3 this year, is the racing just as contact-heavy as last year?
I did watch the FIA GT race at Silverstone on Men and Moters, great racing between Maserati, Aston and Chevrolete.
BTW, Valencia has signed a deal to host a street race around the harbour area in F1 from next year, giving Spain 2 races (and they've only just gotten rid of the second Italian and German races ).
|
The BTCC is getting worse, just look at the pictures of Matt Alison's crash last weekend, he was hit by Turner (SEAT) but the crash was blamed on Alison's team mate which is scandalous in my opinion as the contact between Turner and Alison's team mate was literally just trading paint, not a shove up the rear which wrecked the car. But of course since John Palmer is in charge of both the MSA and the BTCC and is good friends with Plato, SEAT are untouchable. ![Angry](smileys/smiley7.gif)
From what I've read the FIA GTs were very good, I wish I could have watched the race.
|
I think you mean Alan Gow, not Palmer, and yes, I think the BTCC reall needs to clamp down on the door banging, its not supposed to be a contact sport.
|
![Embarrassed](smileys/smiley9.gif) Yeah I do, that'll teach me not to type in an angry mood.

Those times are surprisingly close together, I know that Friday practice times don't mean much but it's nice to see Hamilton as the top of the time sheet.

I was surprised at how far back the Red Bulls were, but it is friday morning times, and they tend to be the most useless of the weekend.

I thinkl it's also interesting that the Super Aguris are still fast, I know they'll be slower on race day but it's nice to see them putting in competetive times

Hope he does better this time around.

Tomorrows starting grid looks interesting. 1. MASSA Ferrari
2. ALONSO McLaren
3. RAIKKONEN Ferrari
4. HAMILTON McLaren
5. KUBICA BMW
6. TRULLI Toyota
7. HEIDFELD BMW
8. KOVALAINEN Renault
9. COULTHARD Red Bull
10. FISICHELLA Renault
11. ROSBERG Williams
12. BARRICHELLO Honda
13. SATO Super Aguri
14. BUTTON Honda
15. DAVIDSON Super Aguri
16. LIUZZI Toro Rosso
17. SCHUMACHER Toyota 18. WURZ Williams 19. WEBBER Red Bull 20. SUTIL Spyker 21. ALBERS Spyker 22. SPEED Toro Rosso
Speed had a gearbox problem and never went on track, Webber had a hydrolics problem and was called in on his second flyer so thats why he starts 19th and Wurze said he haid bad traffic, particularly blaming Trulli for holding him up. Looks like another closs fight between Ferrari and McLaren.

After a long break, here we go again, Massa on pole is not a surprise anymore, last race i said that he would be easily overtaken in the first turn, since that did not happen, i wont say anything like that anymore ![LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) , but i think all is served for Alonso, to win in his country, it would be nice if hamilton could win, though.
