I saw the name Grand Astoria when I was researching Flower Punk but I haven't heard it yet.
I'll check it out today.
They have a lot of albums but I recommend "The Mighty Few" and "La Belle Époque". I saw them last year and the same festival is bringing Flower Punk this year Tongue

Yesterday:
Will Z. - A New Mirrored You
Will Z. - Twelve Visions
Virgen Sideral - s/t
Sintesis - s/t
Bruno Pernadas - Those Who Throw Objects...
Mort Garson - Electronic Hair Pieces
Samsara Blues Experiment - Waiting for the Flood (I don't know why I thought this was worse than the previous album. I'd say it's the best produced of the three, it's all very clear, considering how heavy their music is. Gary, did you listen to the new song? Looks like Peters' solo experiments affected the band's sound a little Wink)

^  I have not heard the new SBE song yet, is it on Bandcamp or YouTube or somewhere else?
I read on their site that a new album (five songs) is coming out in May. That should be interesting.

What do you think of this one? I gave it a few spins already and I find difficult to stay focused until the end, it sounds quite samey.

Any improvement since last week? Tongue

I used to rate `Expresso 2' higher than I do now (I still enjoy it, but it's not as consistent as `Gazeusse!' before it), but at the same time, it's much better than both `Downwind' and `Time is the Key' that followed, which sounded like Pierre Moerlin having a vibraphone orgy with his mates at his place on the weekend! (Although, I'll admit it's been a few years since I've played both of those two, I'm now seriously curious to dig them out again)

`Trans Europe Express'....that's considered a masterpiece WHY??? I mean, it's perfect alright...although I still maintain that the band build up these potentially cool electronic pieces and then sh*t all over them with those dreary repetitive vocals. I don't know...I'm on about my tenth listen at this point, and I can listen to it in the background and kind of enjoy it, but for something with its status, it seems so...lightweight to me? Urgh...and if I hear `Even the greatest stars....' repeated one more time....

I could also give two tosses that it namedrops David Bowie and Iggy Pop in the lyrics either, no matter how much it might make the trendies cream themselves.

Hmmm, this post took a rather uncomfortable sexual direction in a few spots , sorry folks!

I'll have to give it more spins before I buy Gazeuse then. This is still the only Gong album I have in my collection Embarrassed

At least on PA, none of their albums reaches 4 stars Tongue I try not to be affected by the common opinion, although once in a record store, I heard a father tell his daughter "that's Kraftwerk, the creators of Electronic music" Dead That's bad parenting, if you ask me LOL

Yesterday:
Yellow Magic Orchestra - Solid State Survivor
Samuel Cadima - Cascata (Done! Big smile)
Kraftwerk - s/t
JPL - Le Livre Blanc
Supertramp - Crisis? What Crisis? (I missed listening to them.)
Eloy - Colours (Probably not their best, but it's their coolest.)
A Presença das Formigas - Pé de Vento
Ad Maiora - s/t
Camel - Rain Dances (I seriously don't know why it has such a low rating.)
