Tie between System of a Down and A Perfect Circle. both amazing amazing bands.
NIN, QotSA are good too, and I used to like Foo fighters a whole lot.
Honorable mention for Tenacious D, but they are more of a comedy act than a band.
I used to think I liked audioslave, but then I realized they suck in a big big way (I'm pushing for a Rage reunion)

What are Iced Earth doing on the list? There's no way they can be considered a "non prog mainstream modern rock band"

I Still consider Soad prog metal but hey... no one listens. So I still voted for 'em... They are something really strange... How could a alternative metal band become so popular in a time when music is only created for proffit...

A Perfect Circle...and Billy Corgan's new solo album is a load of CRAP.I had high expectations for it because I really like The Smashing Pumpkins(especially their earlier albums:Gish,Siamese Dream, etc.)

Coldplay. Though, they need to progress a bit. Their second album was really really good, but this new one is "eeeh ."
