Topic: Zeuhl Battle Posted: April 27 2011 at 19:43 |
Just curious. I'd like to know which Zeuhl group is held in the highest regard.
I'd personally go Eskaton or Weidorje.

Yikes this is tough, although it's really only between Dun and Magma for me. I'll go with Dun because I find it more engaging than Magma, which is pretty damn engaging.

I certainly have to go with the big one: Magma. My second choice would be Shub-Niggurath.

Something about Magma has always rubbed me the wrong way. I think it's their vocals. Worst vibrato ever.

Get the debut if you don't have it -- awesome album.

Out of all of their albums, the debut, Udu Wudu, and Attahk are the only ones I thoroughly enjoy.

My faves are Kobaia, 1001 Degrees Centigrade, and Wurdah Itah.

I don't want to be obvious, but it's obviously Magma

My favorite right now is Koenjihyakkei. Next would be a tie between Magma and Eskaton. But there's still a lot of Zeuhl I haven't heard ... someday though, someday.

Chose the obvious but i really love ZAO who aren't listed,of course only their early stuff is really Zeuhl i suppose. Some newer Zeuhl bands that i'm really enjoying are Setna and Xing Sa.

I knew I was going to forget one of the better bands. Zao is awesome, and I regret not remembering to include them. Nobody'else would vote for them anyway, though.

Oh! Magma should be excluded! Thus this poll is somewhat biased.
(Something like Prog Folk battle with participation of Tulls. Who´ll win, aha?)

because Magma will win by far I guess, Dun and first 3 albums by Eskaton are essential in any serious collection

Magma of course. But Weidorje, Shub, Koenjihyakkei and Dün are also interesting.

I like all bands here except for Dün. And I don't have any Universal Totem Orchestra. Need to work on that. Magma is head and shoulders above the rest though.
Also the Eider Stellaire debut is recommended!
