Topic: Radiohead, Muse or Coldplay?? Posted: October 27 2009 at 06:53 |
These are bands that are often discussed in PA. There seems to be a lot of debate about whether they are prog or not. However, regardless of prog credentials - which do you prefer?

Radiohead. But to be honest, I've begun to lose interest in all of them.

I once was a rabid Muse fan but not anymore. Radiohead I have an academic interest in but they never engaged my heart. Coldplay are just plain awful.

Radiohead by a ridiculously large margin.
I do like all three, though. The other two not so much as of late.

Radiohead but I'm not crazy about either of them overall.

It honestly seems to me that Muse have only written one song their entire career. And Coldplay is some of the most inoffensively atrocious music of our day. But Radiohead has some good songs.

Radiohead by a long shot, but far from being one of my favorite bands either. I dig Muse though. Coldplay, I avoid like the plague.

Muse have had great moments (absolution) now are irrelevant. Radiohead had one moment, now irrelevant. Coldplay is very enjoyable, but nothing else.
None of them shine, but Muse has shined the brightest at least once

Radiohead - THE BENDS is one of my favourite ever albums, and I can't stand Muse or Coldplay.

I have followed all three of these bands for some years, i have most of their albums. There are many strange listings in PA and Radiohead and Muse are among the strangest, I think Blur should be included, and Coldplay!

Radiohead.
Muse I have time for, they rock hard and have some proggy leanings, but Coldplay leave me..well..cold to be honest. I'm fed up with Chris Martins whinging voice, and the bands predictable formula. A few good songs here and there, but a whole album is too much for me.

I think Blur, evolved and progressed quite interestingly, but they have one ingredient I cant stomach; Damon Alburn. The guy is a very weak singer imo.

Grunge goes bland, awful grunge and bland blandishness.
I'll avoid these modern hacks, thank you very much!

I actually like Coldplay, but in these pages this feels like I am admitting to unspeakable sex crimes. I cannot understand why they elicit such strongly negative opinions (Coldplay, that is - not the unspeakable...erm..). They are constantly being accused of being bland and wet, but to my ears they are far more melodically inventive than the likes of say...Journey, Boston, Styx or countless other middle-of-the-road, easy-on-the-ear rock bands - many of whom are quite highly rated on this website. 'The Scientist' is a great track! And Viva La Vida has some genuinely progressive moments. I also like Chris Martin's voice - I think its brittle quality conveys far more genuine feeling and emotion than old foghorn LaBrie for instance.

Close between Radiohead and Muse, although i don't really like either of them that much. In the end I voted for Muse, because I don't particularly like Radiohead or Muse, I feel like with muse has a better chance of growing on me. As for coldplay, they just make my ears bleed.
