Topic: favorite sport.... Posted: December 21 2006 at 23:34 |
First, I do think sports are compatible with an intellectual live (believe me, there are some that think both are exclusive).... I personally like a little bit football (american nfl style)....
BUT THE KING OF KINGS OF ALL IS FUTBOL....
Or for you, , "soccer"

Futebol, futbol, fussball, calcio, foot-ball, football...
In Portuguese, we have also 2 words for this sport: ludopédio & balípodo.

Formula 1, with GT/ Sportscar racing and ChampCar not far behind.
And why wasnt motorsport of any kind in this poll?

The so called soccer. A question to you north americans: why do you call 'fútbol', 'soccer'? Wouldn't be 'football' the best word for it? (it annoys me when people calls it soccer).

As most US folk speak English, this would be logical.

"soccer", for both watching and playing. i play central defender. well, at least i played, untill my sight became to poor without eyeglasses (which are too precious and might break).
second choise for watching is almost any sport, second choice for playing is basketball, such a wonderful sport to practice.

Not fond of him either, but it's still better than Chinese champion of UK. Nothing against Chiinese or any other nation, was just very disappointed by UK wizards then. And on the last UK Championship I was all for Hendry (my all time favourite) to win but game is game and all balls are round.
Hendry's achievements are still unsurpassed, I guess?
And big round of applause to Steve Davies - amazing old man, and people's champion Jimmy "The Unlucky" White .

because we call football football. there can't be two footballs it's just confusing. soccer isn't all that popular in the US and football is our top sport. it's quite simple.
