What are albums people could reccomend to me which were released in 2005.?

I seem to have skipped the prog scene completely this year, not intentionally but they just don't seem to be publicised at all very frustrating. The only album sor far I have bought that could even be considered prog is Deadwing by Porcupine Tree and that is more contempory rock than previous albums.

My collection from 1997 when I was 10 and I first started buying albums ( my dad thought what I bought was weird and I was weird), is very healthy with many albums for each year. And before that, my collection starts in 1968 with Pink Floyd. There are no barron years with less than five cd's, because bands such as Deep Purple make up a large amount. And yes albums through the 80's. ( not the greatest 80's yes fan but better than some people say.

My problem is that my collection is in chronological order and my 2005 shelf which I made room for on Jan 1st 2005 is almost empty.

Help Me with your suggestion of albums I should buy.

Yhanks

The only albums I have from this year are Ghost Reveries and Octavarium. The first is good, the second is horrible.

Away from the safety of the mainstream, virtually everything Cuneiform records has released, especially 's: Thanks For Flying With Us; Machine & The Synegistic Nuts; Fast'n'Bulbous; Susan Weinert's Running Out Of Time (jazz rock fusion), David Cross's Closer Than Skin.

Opeth are interesting for my into that sort of music; Porcupine Tree's Deadwing sounds like a band casting around for a new sound; Octavarium overblown.

Best DVDs: Gary Husband's Force Majeure, Primus Live.

Echolyn - The End Is Beautiful

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (I don't think it's a move toward more straight rock, I like it much better than In Absentia)

Is your nickname by any chance inspired by these two albums?
