The 'both" option makes it for an easy choice. Smile

Probably will lose in this poll, but ELP easy. Tangerine Dream never did much for me.

Very tight affair. I like both of them a lot. Ricochet was at some time when I was young one of my favourite albums, but I overplayed it, and these days prefer many other TD albums to it. I will therefore vote for Pictures, which I like as on the first day (due to being played much less to be honest). Not that much between them, but as usually I avoid the "Both" option.

TD for me any day. ELP for me were too bombastic - in its proper definition - not the way a lot of prog fans seem to think the adjective is an approbation.

(From the Collins English dictionary: “If you describe someone as bombastic, you are criticizing them for trying to impress other people by saying things that sound impressive but with little meaning.”)

Hope you don't mind me asking, but is there other electronic music you like? Sorry, I'm just not that familiar with your tastes.

The first Tangerine Dream album I heard was Phaedra. It was given to me in 1986, as well as some other cassettes including Echo and the Bunnymen by someone when I was in hospital to play on my Walkman. I was intrigued by it, but I can't say I really liked it. 18 year later I really got into Tangerine Dream for the pre-Pheedra period. Then I got Ricochet and loved that. Now I love Phaedra and lots more Tangerine Dream.

I liked Pictures the last time I listened to it which might have been about 2005. I was appreciating ELP more then than I do now. I prefer the mindtrip that TD takes me on than my experience with ELP, but I get that a lot of TD (including the classic stuff) would be boring to many listeners.

To me Ricochet is fantastic, but to each their own.

For me. I’m shocked that TD is winning.

I think I go for ELP just a tad more than TD for these albums. After mooing at web pages this morning, I sort of feel like I'm shaped like a cookie now.

After being tempted by the convenient "both" button, I finally went with Pictures, an album that I listened to a lot, a lifetime ago. Then I put it to rest for so many time, that I'm in good terms with it again and ready for a new spin anytime. Anyway, I'm voting rather the greatness of the album than my present disposition towards it.
