I skipped the Experimental Interactive Poll because I was not satisfied with the ones I narrowed it down to and thought my choices might meet not be that welcome.
I only have about ten albums from this year so far that I am very keen on. The idea is to post various tracks that you like from this year and then from those to choose one, two, or three, depending on participation to nominate. Then when the time comes, we will listen to the selections and choose three to vote for (rules will depend on numbers of participants and nominations). Shout out to Lorenzo who came up with the first one of these Interactive Polls, hope all is well. By the way, i think it's fine if different people choose different tracks from the same albums. I will start with something from my number one album of the year, which was only released on May, 17, 2024. Beth Gibbons "Floating on a Moment" off Lives Outgrown And one I shared in another topic of mine: Eunuch "Gnome and Fortune" off Harbour Century released on April 5th. (warning, if listening in public place, it has the word "fu**ing") Prog and Non-Prog, and anywhere in between, is acceptable, but please try to keep your submissions on the shorter side (say under 10 minutes). Thanks. Here are the submissions. All are in the poll. Note that 25 had a too early vote (for the t completing the SO FAR); a reason to avoid juvenile humour. Official Nominees - Expected Listening and Voting (please try to listen to these 10 and vote for two or three) 1. Beth Gibbons "Floating on a Moment" 2. Still House Plants "M M M" 3. IDLES "Jungle" 4. Orange Blossom "Mawj" 5. Barbara Morgenstern "Die Liebe zur Sache" 6. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum "Burn Into Light" 7. Sgàile "Ptarmigans Cry" 8. Melvins "She's Got Weird Arms" 9. The Decemberists "Burial Ground" 10. Ihsahn - The Distance Between Us ------------------ Bonus Selections #1 - Optional (for number two picks as nominations - can vote for up to two of these "bonus" choices) 11. Eunuchs "Gnome and Fortune" 12. Solar "Blues" 13. Ghost Funk Orchestra "Nova" 14. Aquaserge "Sommets" 15. Adult Jazz "Marquee" 16. Bat For Lashes "The Dream of Delphi" 17. Caligula's Horse "Stormchaser" ------------------------------------ Bonus Selections #2 - Optional (for those third suggestions - can vote for one of these bonuses) 18: Julia Holter "Something in the Room She Moves" 19. Torres "Collect" OR William Shatner "Elephants and Termites" (not in youtube playlist) 20. DarWin "Be That Man" ------------------------------------ Bonus Selections #3 - Optional (for those fourth indidividual suggestions - can vote for one of these bonuses) 21. St. Vincent "All Born Screaming" 22. Blackbriar "Moonflower" 23. Mdou Moctar "Imouhar" ------------------------------------- Bonus Selections #4 and #5 - Optional (the others, fifth or sixth mentions -- mention your fave of these bonuses in a post if desired) 24: Tapir! "Mountain Song" OR Ghost Funk Orchestra "Totality..." OR Leprous "Atonement" (can vote for one) 25. The Smile "Bending Hectic" OR The Decemberists "Joan in the Garden" Here is the youtube playlist (minus Shat): And here is Shatner: --------------------------------------------- So we are ready to vote. Please list all votes in a post and do not vote for any of your own choices. For the two last options, you can vote for one of the selections in each space (24th and 25th option). Please. again, list in your post that for which you voted. if voting for bonuses, please try to listen to the selections in the sections you vote for before voting. Thanks to all who participated, and to any who check out any of the music here. :bowing emoticon: Edited by Logan - June 19 2024 at 09:42 |

I'll nominate 'M M M' by Still House Plants - https://stillhouseplants.bandcamp.com/track/m-m-m
This is pretty far from prog, I'll suggest 'Blues' by Solar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-m3_gQrW5k And lastly 'Collect' by Torres - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP9kh_F3F54

Is that a t? I was aiming for the exclamation mark. Anyway, 2024 is great for music so far, and listening has been a gas! ^^ And thanks, Stephen. I found MMM by Still house Plants on youtube and will be adding it to a playlist.... Oh, I can't as it is prohibited as made for kids. Edited by Logan - May 29 2024 at 17:18 |

One more, although it's a single, not from an album...

I genuinely like the new William Shatner album. It's a children's album so the video can't be saved to a playlist.

Will probably be back with more suggestions, but for now: I've been waiting ten years for this one... Or, maybe I should say that the band waited ten years before releasing their fourth album (four albums in their 30 years existence...): Orange Blossom, a French band mixing Middle-Eastern and sometimes latin elements with an addictive electro-rock (sometimes even rubbing the prog beast) released their album Spells From the Drunken Sirens last March. Orange Blossom - Mawj (from the album Spells From the Drunken Sirens): |

Thanks, guys.
that Orange Blossom - Mawj was not working for me but I found one that works for my region: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRbFCcZpS8Q I really love the track. And another one from me: St. Vincent "All Born Screaming" off the album All Born Screaming (released on April 26). Depending on participation, I probably will wait a couple weeks before putting up nomination. I'm happy in having an active topic where people are suggesting new music. Maybe on Sunday I'll through those that have been mentioned and hopefully make some little comments on the tracks. |

Barbara Morgenstern has a new album out (long time fan here, as some know).
Here's Die Liebe zur Sache: (Note that I have changed the song here as I like this one more; had chosen the other one earlier because I had focuses on the ones that have a video.) For the friends of experimental electronic music, the new album of the Fossil Aerosol Mining Project is very cool, but it isn't on youtube. https://fossilaerosol.bandcamp.com/album/august-53rd

^ Can you repeat that? Another one from me, still very fresh in the ears - the album was released a week ago - but a very enjoyable album it is: the new album by Aquaserge, La Fin de l'Économie. From this album Aquaserge - Sommets: |

Sorry, I've just noticed I made a double post, no need for sarcasm. I'll edit one of those posts with a video soon.

^ Oh, no sarcasm intended, I tried to bring it jokingly (hence the smiley) - these things happen to all of us. Sorry if it came over differently.

Thanks, all. Another mention from me. I shared a track from this album elsewhere before, but not this:
"Mountain Song" off Tapir!'s The Pilgrim, Their God and the King of My Decrepit Mountain |
