Hopefully a fun, entertaining as well as enlightening
thread. Has anyone here seen a UAP or know of someone that did? The stigma has all but dissipated so don’t be
shy. I for one have never witnessed a
sighting or personally know of someone that did. However, it’s a subject that I dove down deep
into. It’s apparent that sightings around the globe have increased
exponentially. Number
of 'UFOs' in Maryland alone is astonishing as sightings increase
'significantly' (msn.com) What I gather is that we are currently in an “open window
contact” that will persist for approximately another 1-2 years. Sightings will continue to increase until
most of humanity will acclimate to the idea that we are not alone. After that there will be “open door” contact
which will last about a decade. The first
race to introduce themselves will have features similar to us; as to not freak
out a lot of people. After that other extraterrestrial and alien races will
present themselves; some of them very bizarre looking. I guess we’ll find out in a couple of years; at least most of us. I’ve always been open minded, but recently I was introduced to a concept that’s challenging to wrap my head around. I’ll see how this thread progresses and maybe discuss it further; it has to do with the earth shifting through different parallel realities billions of times per second. Here’s another interesting read.. Let’s have some fun… |

The only UAP I have seen was last year. I saw an airplane travelling west and climbing (there is an airport about 12 miles from where I live). This is around 4:00 p.m. There was another object travelling in the same direction, but was lower in the sky than the airplane and brighter. I could not discern any shape to the lower object because it was too bright. Then it simply disappeared. It was immediate, not a fade out of light. The airplane continued uninterrupted. Part of my mind thinks it was an optical illusion because of the angle of the sun, the other part of my mind isn't so sure and has no explanation for what I saw.

I saw the same thing......OMG Honestly, I have seen similar sights and have always figured it was some kind of optical illusion either from the sun or dark of night by the starlit moon... I'm always looking up though

They say smokers see a lot of UFOs because they're always outside late at night. Much truth to that. |

Nope. If Aliens are capable of intergalactic travel then making first contact with us would be like us trying to have a convsersation with an ant. I guess people hold onto to this notion because at the moment the future for the human race and this planet is looking very bleak unless various countries can learn to work together better (or at all). So we need rescuing right?

There is a forum member responsible for causing at least some sightings... I guess.

I'm with you on the "nope" bit, but if we were able to nail down the existence of ants on other planets, I think we'd be very happy about making conversation with them as far as we can get it and then some more. So this particular argument isn't very convincing. (Apart from the fact that I'd expect such Aliens to openly try to make contact rather than just occasionally show up in a way that nobody ultimately can be sure. Or to efficiently hide themselves, but not what the UFO observers see.)

Not sure we'd bother but perhaps 'Prime directive' and all that might stop us also there are no convincing proven sightings of UFO (just anecdotal which doesn't count) so in my view they are hiding efficiently (if they are here and observing us) .

According to Hawking and others ... the real issue is the distances to get through. IF, the speed of LIGHT is the possible common factor, then the likelihood of anyone meeting us, or vice versa is more than likely totally improbable. My take, however, is based on irreverent knowledge on my part ... that different solar systems will have different values for the "speed of light" measures we have ... and we have not YET taken into consideration that a system off a red star, or a different blue star, has different physics according to its system, which are different for their speed of light ... even though, we only seem to see one thing ... a bit of residue of what they have shown since some of it would likely appear on different wavelengths, which we see in red or blue scopes.

No matter how you measure it, the speed of light is always constant. It's probably the only constant in the universe. By warping space or going through a wormhole, although you gain more distance than the speed of light, you are not breaking any laws of physics. Science says it's possible, now engineering has to step up to the plate.

I don't use the term UAP. I use the term UFO. Sorry but that's how I roll. Unless they are different I see no reason to stop using the term UFO.
Anyway, I don't think I've ever seen one but I know people who have. My brother claimed he saw one once. He said he saw something in the sky and then all of a sudden it just disappeared. My ex-step mother (who I no longer have any contact with) claimed she saw two. One was a bit in the distance but the other one was about (and I'm guessing here) 50 feet away. All I know is that she said it was really close. I don't remember if she said it was a saucer shape though. She said she was about ten years old when she saw it.

Does anyone know why they're mainly spotted in the USA? Here in Europe we mainly see pink fairies or flying mushrooms...

Funny, back in the day there used to be lots of pictures and videos of UFOs. Now, when nearly everyone has a camera in their pocket we aren't getting hundreds and thousands more. Same applies to ghosts, yetis, Loch Ness monsters etc.. Nope, I don't believe in any of it - no proof anywhere of anything - not one thing -zilch.

^I do but I'm not going to have a debate about it with people on here otherwise it could go on for about 100 pages and take up too much of my time. I will say that there have been hoaxes and imo these hoaxes have killed the credibility of a lot of it in many cases.

That's a good point. On top of that it creates a stigma on the subject, so much so that it's hard to attract really good researchers (like scientists, physicists, engineers, etc.) to give it a proper long-term detailed study.
