C'mon, Billy sit still!!! I personally think his pinnacle was the band "Bruford."  That band was a true supergroup: Holdsworth, Stewart, Berlin.  WOW!
The views expressed are that of Rubedo and Rubedo alone, don't think that I don't realize this!

Personally i like his work with KC. Although he was great with Yes, His own bands, UK. Basically everywhere he played he was great.

Good poll Rubedo ... I'd go for Yes narrowly over KC ...

You've obviously not that guy we had on here about 6 months ago who was obsessed by Bruford's brief stint with Genesis!

Good idea for a poll.

For me: his band Bruford. I really love Feels Good To Me, One Of A Kind and Gradually Going Tornado. He played in many good bands, though.

Though I prefer Yes with Bruford, I think Yes did just fine with Alan White until Drama.

So I'm going with King Crimson, because Bruford seems to fit even better there than with Yes.

Bruford didnt really start truly developing untill he did Larks tounges in aspic with jamie (james?) muir. Its a hard choice between KC and Bruford's solo stuff. But Ill go with KC. (personally I think alan white was better with Yes, no clue why yes is doing so well in this poll )

Bill Bruford belongs with Bruford, he was excellent with Dave Stewart (another very talented musician) and the underrated Jeff Berlin, not to forget Alan Holdsworth

Plus Yes has a drummer they don't freaking need Bruford, they have ALAN WHITE who is excellent in his more rock and roll way.

I couldn't agree more!! As a drummer/percussionist/writer, his best place is with himself, and I include his Earthworks albums as extensions of his solo career. As a member of a band, his best input was with King Crimson. Although he was a Yes-man in two of yes's best albums, I think that Squiere is more proper for Yes than Bruford: Bill is too free-spirited for Squire's peculiar bass playing drive, while White is more disposable, and he also is more adequate for Jon Anderson's positive vibes. There is something kind of wicked in Bruford's multi-faceted percussive vision - yes, every pre-Bruford KC album was a step forward for a time when Bruford and KC would be ready to meet halfway and join forces.

I voted YES because of his performance on Heart of the Sunrise.  But to be honest, I really can't decide.  The guy is a genius.  I don't care who he plays/played for, he's truly a legend.

I voted for Yes, but I could've said KC or UK as well (unfortunately I don't know much about his solo work). I saw Bruford live with Anderson, Wakeman and Howe, and he was amazing. I remember a guy in the audience shouting 'Octopus!' at him during the drum solo.
