^ Yes, Canterbury is a subgenre that I’m still digging into. Probably the first album I listened to was Caravan’s In the Land of the Grey and Pink, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They just don’t make music like that nowadays. Brilliant!

Today, after a couple of Drifting Sun albums, I had the pleasure of discovering Egberto Gismonti.
Albums: 1. Egberto Gismonti: This self-titled album does a pretty damn good job mixing genres, but is also a little too creative, not deciding what it should be. Still, it's just as beautiful as Thembi, and slighlty more consistent. 93/100 2. Academia de danças: Avant-prog??? Some, but not enough rock. More like avant-garde jazz to me. And this is a much more beautiful album that maintains a perfectly wave-riding flow with only a slight hiccup of boredom during the middle section, much like the Banco debut. 99.5 3. Corações futuristas: A third stream album that improves n everything the last two albums did but sacrificing the rough avant-garde behavior in place of classical grandeur. 100 4. Agua & vinho: Absolutely none of the dated cheese that samba albums of the time even makes a cameo appearance here. Instead, it's all serious atmospheric poetry. 98.
