Nah. Nowhere in the review is Porcupine Tree mentioned. xD The reviewer meant Steven Wilson of Stiltskin

PapaPork needs to go. I'm not here very often now but the last few times I've come here one or more of his fecal thought streams is littering the front page. The most recent Hatfield and the North review takes pot shots at other reviewers and fans. Just utter infantile tripe. No redeeming value whatsoever.

Well... I owned that Hatfield & the North album and found it to be not to my liking.   He reviews in the old tradition of many 70's reviewers from Creem and RS, like Bangs and Tosches.  I find them fun to read. As long as they are honest opinions. why not?

^He reviews in the tradition of a remedial 9-year-old. I'm happy you are so easily entertained.

It's not just what you say, but how you say it matters. The review seems mean-spirited. I think that's why it was reported.

I totally agree. The reviewer doesn't use analyse the MUSIC at all. If you look at the other reviews he's posted, he seems no better than a troll.

PapaPork's review of OF QUEUES AND CURES is also below par. It's all very well not liking a specific genre of music, but then what are you doing on Prog Archives? (I myself am not fond of Prog Metal, but I leave the genre alone & don't go around sl*g.ing off every Prog Metal album I can find!)

It's the how, not the what you say, definitely. A one-star rating says "man, you need to improve your efforts" which can sound harsh, but never offensive. T*rd / cr*p applied to your work says "your worthless excrement needs to be flushed down". It's not the word alone, but how you throw it on someone's work. "That's my dog's t*rd" is harmless, almost helpful. But "your album is cr*p" sounds offensive, doesn't it?

^Not really. The speech of Svettie's chips-off has been tuned to some AI tool's LLM lately, which cannot be said of Porky's childish and sometimes slightly amusing cracking exercises wrapped as reviews.

Papa Pork's reviews violate almost every facet of the reviewer guidelines and are getting more offensive by the day. Purposefully offensive and intentionally contrarian. Allmusic database of reviews has a similar spammy reviewer that the site refuses to get rid of, despite hundreds of complaints. Why? It's not censorship, but expulsion for intentionally refusing to accept reviewer guidelines.

To me, PapaPork's vocabulary seems more like a classic troll, while Svetonio's is more on the narcissistic autistic side.

Well it is possible for someone to adopt alternate personas :)
Whether it's Svet or not isn't really relevant but the hostile nature of the rants is unwarranted.
There is absolutely ZERO value in those brutish bellowing blusters masquerading as, ah-hem, reviews.

Perhaps we should introduce the requirement to have a minimum of X posts on the forums, before a user can publish album reviews?

It’s almost like Papapork doesnt actually like music. Apart from one three star review for Ommadawn he’s not given anything more than 2 stars.

Call me a little odd if you will but I’d rather write positive reviews of albums I like, in the hope that my words might inspire others to check the music out. I’ve no time for music I don’t like but don't feel any need to tell all and sundry about my dislike or Sl*g it off. Papapork should be removed IMHO …
