^ Well, I want also to be considerate towards the people who are very fond of Rush, so I don't think that I'll go further with this subject here, while I might on another occasion tell a bit about what I can be very proud of as a progger.

^I don't believe there is any music I am proud of. Music does not emote pride for me.

Okay, I can tell here that I'm for instance very proud of having in my collection all the great Prog classics which I list in this thread: Your collection of the greatest ProgRock classics? . Edited by David_D - December 30 2024 at 15:00 |

Does it matter? He walks down an alley, spits on people, gets his ass kicked, and then pretends we're the fools. Yeah it's hilarious. |

^ It's quite possible to be unaware of this stuff while being a member of the forum. There is a sub forum that is only available to collabs that is hidden to all others. Those type of discussions take place there. I personally don't remember this although I was only made a collab some years after I joined and I don't remember exactly when that happened although it was around the time I added Keith Emerson to the database as a solo artist, and that was Feb 2007. The idea that it's possible to know this (King Crimson being moved from Art rock to Eclectic) from a rumour on another forum is frankly hilarious. I wouldn't be surprised though if it did happen. King Crimson represent progressive rock as well as any band especially for the avant side of things so lumping them in with more stylised bands was a problem. Eclectic seem to be represented by bands that don't have a set style (However VDGG are in there and that makes little sense as they are the least eclectic of the classic prog bands retaining a sound and style that barely changed through the seventies). What this all has to do with Rush is anyone's guess though.

^There's no disagreement here. It's not about opinions. You have your signature style, although you try to hide it. Here's a hot tip for your next account: Stop having two accounts simultaniously, where one is mainly used to press "Thanks" for each end every post of yours - literally the second you post something - no matter how forgettable of a sentence. Like the one I'm replying to right now. Ain't nobody else who would bother to thank you for that, besides yourself. Then you might be at least a little more of a challenge to recognize.

You, sir, are the Moriarty of prog sites. You provoke, you smear, you get killed, you come back. Well done. |

^Guess what: I don't believe you. But if you don't have a Split personality disorder or something, take my advice and stop thanking yourself like you've done through... I don't know how many accounts by now. A LOT. You might actually last a little longer. Surely it's worth a shot.

7 pages - a lot of air on what Rush is. long time Rush fan here. i remember when i started listening to them when 2112 came out. one thing i did not ask myself in 1976 - is Rush prog or progressive or hard prog or whatever. just sounded pretty damn awesome. can guarantee Neil doesn't give a crap how we classify them. which i guess is really what all the fuss is about - how is Rush classified? i know you all feel the need to categorize them here on this site. for me, i could care less. and after all of my time here - i see have a hard time understanding you all as to what is progressive or prog, etc. i think i'll head back to work now listening to some Hemispheres...
