^^ hence why JMA needs more love and support. It would be nice if there was an active forum but it would also be nice if there were more reviewers over there too.
I don't listen to enough jazz to be much use to them over there, but like with PA, participating in the forum setting I'd probably pick up a few more albums here and there just to check out the ones that seem to have consensus love and/or enjoyment.

I adore jazz. Twenty-five percent of my collection is jazz. I used to visit JMA to ferret through album reviews/ratings. The scarcity of reviews/ratings shocked me. A plethora of PA reviews/ratings spoiled me.
When searching for a jazz sound I crave, I find PA's jazz reviews more helpful.

Hi, I did not care much for the reviews on the PA site and stopped posting mine here. For anyone who is a writer, or an artist, reading some of those reviews, it's not hard to tell that they are simple "fan-atics" trying to make sure they get the ratings and numbers up so they can show an audience considering the purchase that it is worth their while. As an example, I would like to take out something like a third of all reviews on KC's first album ... I'm not sure they "qualify" as a review at all! I do not, find the reviews on JMA like that at all, and in many cases I find them more honest and not more fan-troll material, but I think someone will say I'm not being honest ... I am, but I dislike the commercial side of things trying hard to make you feel guilty because they "know" and you "don't". There was a film "LOOKER" ... that took a look at commercials in their story and what folks followed on each commercial ... and that company set about creating sales with the same idea and concept, which both you and I would find ... dishonest ... and not exactly true to the source of the material ... it's just advertising and its supposed importance, compared to your idea or mine. I post all my film reviews and album reviews on my own website, and I do not feel the need to be more famous or better known for posting 100 album reviews in PA ... mainly because I don't feel the "love" or appreciation for the work, but for a few folks. Not that I'm looking for my own kitty kat ... to side with me, and appreciate the rubs and the touches. I, likely/probably, would post more reviews on JMA, if I felt they made a difference, but they DON'T ... and as for the folks in the forum, that's another story, but at least you don't feel like the majority of folks are posting so they can see themselves and hear themselves and add to the post count by responding to themselves. Something in that area seems to be dishonest for me, but the website is the one that loses the appeal, when some folks are taking advantage of it ... and not seeing that on JMA is probably better and more appealing. In some ways, not in a mean way, this really shows how much folks on PA really appreciate THE MUSIC ITSELF or NOT ... at which point you would not be worrying about one side or another ... and when you find thread just looking for one "style", it's hard to not think that person is not into music ... it's all about the song, and they want more of it. At least, you can feel comfortable and confident that folks posting a few things, have, likely, heard the album, instead of one song from it ... and I wonder (for myself) if this is really the main difference in between both sides. In this sense I feel the ratings would be way more honest, than how it is done and used on PA ... but I'm still on this one, and not sure how correct/right it is. My biggest issue right now on this? 1001 things to listen to on JMA! I'm not sure I can get the list up to 100 on PA anymore ... as I get older, that cookie factory has lost its taste a long time ago ... I still like M&M's ... but that's stretching it! At 74 you can not overdo the salt or sugar!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
