From that list only Pink Floyd and Yes are in my top 5 prog bands of all time.
The other three in my top 5 would be Curved Air, Focus, and ELP. Edited by Floydoid - 6 hours 25 minutes ago at 08:46 |

From the list, Yes & Genesis. Added to my personal top 5...ELP, Gentle Giant, and Triumvirat.

I do but I listen to a whole lot more than just those five (or 13). It's just that very few modern (your definition of modern) would crack my top 100 (if modern means the past ten years or so if we go back a little further then a few more).

I picked "other" which for me would be Transatlantic. I never got into King Crimson or Rush, I only recently started to appreciate some of Genesis (mainly SEBTP and Supper's Ready), and there are only a few of Yes and Pink Floyd's catalogue that I like.

You sound like you are probably young (or relatively young).

I chose "Other" (because it was available). It is no secret that my favourite group by a considerable margin is Van der Graaf Generator. Of the other choices (if "Other" were not available), I would have chosen Yes. |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I like VDGG a lot too but over the years they have fallen off my personal top 5 list. Maybe still top ten though.

I'm listening to them more now than I did in the past. And when I'm not listening to them, I'm usually listening to something other than the five groups of this topic. Nevertheless, four of the five groups (not Rush) are foundational to me. I should remark that VdGG became my favourite group pretty much from the beginning of my venture into prog, from when I started listening to Pawn Hearts.
