Some Zep cuts were recorded outside the time-frame of a given album and then added to a later LP.   Many things were recorded in Wales or elsewhere.   I think part of the issue with some of those tracks is that when songs are recorded at different locations & different times, they sound quite different and don't necessarily go well with, or sound quite right on, the album on which they appear.   Zep III has that issue frequently, as does Houses.   Whereas Zep II, Presence, ITtOD, sound more unified from cut to cut.

Yeah quite a bit of PG is older stuff that was left off previous albums because they had too much new material for a single album, and not enough for a double.

A Farewell to Kings is the pick. As much as I like Led Zeppelin, Rush is my 3rd favorite rock band after Yes and Genesis. If I was to do a top 5 albums between Rush and LZ only Houses of the Holy would be there from Zeppelin.

I do believe the most talented musician from either band is John Paul Jones.
