I just replied to your Adagio thread...  but it's too bad I'd have to be a regular poster over at Recommendations to see it...

MO:

At the risk of sounding imperious yet again, we are not going to change the system here just because people are lazy.  And that's what it is: laziness.  If people do not want to check out other categories except their sole "favorite," ten that is their prerogative, but we are not going to change things in order to accommodate every whim and fancy.

A suggestion was made re separating out "Prog Bands Not Included in Prog Archives" "Non-Prog Music."  That is the suggestion on the table, and the only one that is being considered.  And I feel that it is a good one, and one that merits the consideration of the admin group.

So...

Yay or nay on that idea?  Because we are not going to "micro-finetune" Prog Archives to fit every little personal quirk of each member.

Sorry if that all sounds slightly harsh.  But this is really getting absurd.

Peace.

I don't think it's the worst idea in the world.  I just don't understand why "Prog Music Lounge" should only include prog bands that have been put in the archives, when it's obvious there is other prog music...  how long does it usually take for a band, with all info submitted, to the point where all that's required is some copy/pasting, to be added?

That is a great question.

I'm for it (I suggested it in the other thread) ... I don't mind you sounding harsh, but I think you don't need to pay attention to those little "personal quirks" that we mention in posts now and then. You're absolutely right when you say that you can't please everyone, I'm a webmaster myself ... the most annoying bit is when people request something that had actually been done before in the past (even before these people joined) and was then removed (on user request).

I think that any comment we make about how the forum and website works should be regarded as a recommendation, even if it is written like a request. I don't have any problem with you ignoring it alltogether. After all, we're just GUESTS here ...

Peace, and THANKS!
