I'll have to spend a bit of time catching up. I've heard 60% of the 'top' selection. Will have to make a playlist in Apple Music so I can listen to this while I work.

^ Awesome. I have yet to do a proper listening off all of the choices, but, not surprisingly as I made the topic this way, I will want to people listen to all and consider all. Glad you like the Tapir! While I posted it low in the list for some reason, not that it matters, I really like it and the album it's off.

By the way, I know the way I set up voting could be bit confusing for some -- I love playing around with such things and I wanted to be inclusive -- but I wanted to be inclusive and offer some flexibility in voting and that which one is expected to listen. As long as people share their votes I don't much mind how people vote. As I often say, I pay more attention to the posts more than the polls and I don't treat polls as contests (not that others here would either as I don't think that's the Interactive Poll mindset from my experience). The voting is part of the fun as well as sharing our appreciations. :)

I'm going to be getting really busy again (it comes in spurts, I mean work specifically) and so probably will want to listen again tonight and maybe vote by tomorrow. No hurry for anyone else, but I tend to avoid this site when busy with other things. PA is a great way to pass the time, but it can take up a lot of time the way I use it quite often.

Once in, thanks to all who participated. And I hope, Pedro, that you do find some enjoyable music.    No doubt the comparison is not very apt, and it may even be offensive as we may not be worthy of such comparison, but we (the PA Spaced Buccaneers) are something like a collective Space Pirate Radio Guy Guden.

Finished my second listen through and realized that I missed the Eunuch and The Smile tracks, so added those. I like the Eunuch one quite a bit. Somehow I didn't realize The Smile was a Radiohead offshoot until hearing this song.

From section 1, I voted for Orange Blossom and Barbara Morgenstern. I like Sleepytime Gorilla Musrum but I already own this. One of two that I was familiar with (other than my suggestions) prior to the poll. The other is The Smile. There would have been a tie for my third vote.

From Section 2, I voted for Solar and Aquaserge. Eunuchs would have been third.

Thanks Stephen, George and Kees for your votes. I found much very enjoyable music here and in my own time this year looking for music that might appeal), and to think that this year is very far from over. And I'm happy that no one complained about the way I set things up as I know I can over-complicate things; I tend not to go the simplest route. I wanted to cover it all in a way that I thought might work fairly since different people suggested different numbers and would be practical and flexible since we don't have all the time in the world, but I also like to present something of a challenge often for those who wish to embrace it. Wonderful recommendations from all of you who participated; thanks for sharing. And thanks in advance to any other respondents.

I start with the official nominees. I have a hard time voting as pretty much all of them are good but none is outstanding. To be honest I'm not yet fully convinced of 2024 as a music year. Anyway, I think my no. 1 is the Still House Plants track. I'll also vote for Beth Gibbons and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.

In Bonus Group 2 I vote for William Shatner, very charming. The Julia Holter albums is great but I have that already. They're all good.
