^Nice to see Grace Potter posted. I saw her live in Sepember and she is a phenomenal performer. My favorite from her album Mother Road is Masterpiece.

I'll keep it under 10 minutes. LOL

Seriously, I was not expecting a long song, but it can help to reiterate for any others who might participate. :)

I wasn't thinking of long songs anyway. Tongue

So we are allowed to post both prog and non-prog songs, right? Smile
I'll think of something, do not overanalyze it LOL

Thanks to the both of you. I wanted to do this when Nickie mentioned wanting to expose herself to more 2023 releases in the Album of the Year thread, and I find that a curated track can be a great way to introduce oneself to an album. It should help me to discover some more music from albums to listen to in full before the AOTY is officially finalised with results. And of course, the nice thing is that the AP chart includes any release from 2023, Prog or not, in PA or not. Love being able to add more than what is in PA to the list.

I loved listening to that Aksak Maboul track. That is one album I have been seriously into listen to properly since that would surely make my list and be high on it.

This album is such a delight! I had a very hard time to pick a track.

Nice! Thanks for putting one up Greg. I will need to give this some thought. I have tracks in mind but need to consider which ones.

Say goodbye to 2023, and celebrate 2023.

Welcome to another Interactive Poll, this time to celebrate the music of 2023. This poll is open to any tracks that were released and not archival from 2023 (Prog, not Prog). Because part of it is about listening to each other's choices (only the nominees are required to be listened to to participate), I would try to keep the tracks on the shorter side.

First comes the suggestions stage: In this you can mention as many tracks as you like, but please post no more than three videos per post as that can cause problems. Those tracks will be potential choices for nomination.

Then comes the nominations stage: After maybe two weeks, we each will choose which one to nominate from our mentions (or depending on numbers, I might make it two or even three tracks per person). And please try to keep your tracks under about ten minutes.

The comes the voting stage: Come voting time, after listening to the tracks in the playlist, you will choose three of those tracks to vote for. Vote for those in the poll and comment on those three.

Please post the name of the band and title of the song.

I will start with these three:

Susanne Sundfør "Blómi" (off Blómi)

Sprain "Man Proposes, God Disposes" (off The Lamb as Effigy)

Sufjan Stevens "sh*t Talk"

Here is a playlist of suggestions (potential nominations):

Here are the nominations with two lists, the first for expected listening with one choice per person, and the second being suggested listening, with the "second" choices from most contributors.

Please vote for three tracks that you you did not suggest from the first list (the number one or sole picks) and one can vote for another two from the bonus 2's).

The number one or sole picks

    Squid "The Blades"
Aksak Maboul "La parole de la peau"
    Pixie Ninja "Alpha Waves"
    Grace Potter "Good Time"
    Harp "Seven Long Suns"
    OGIVES "Mighty Pumpkin"
    Grave Pleasures "Lead Balloons"
    Zopp "Reality Tunnels"
The Chronicles of Father Robin "The Tale of Father Robin"
    Voyou "Huis Clos"
    Canned Dream "Grandma's Funeral"

Bonus 2's

    Sufjan Stevens "Sh*t Talk"
    Radian "Skyskryp12"
Go Go Machine Orchestra "Atom" (feat. Minyeh Hsien)
D'Virgilio Morse and Jennings "The Weary One"
    Edenya "Another Place"
    De Staat "Burning the Flag"
    Host "Tomorrow's Sky"
    Uriah Heep "Hail the Sunrise"
Zaho de Sagazan "Ne te regarde pas"

Here is the playlist of the nominations:
