Muse - Sing For Absolution. The last time I got truly excited about any music was hearing the album Absolution by Muse. The album cover is very dull but the artwork for the single release is brilliant. I love oranges and reds. It's obviously an apocalypse scene of London with 3 small figures in the left bottom corner (presumably the band). I also like the artwork to the recent Will Of The People which has a similar colour palet and is their best album for 20 years (but I will stick with my current avatar for a while more).

It's a photograph of the Nuuttipukki (that I had colored somewhere online). “Good Tuomas brought Christmas and bad Nuutti took it away”. Appearing in written sources from the mid-nineteenth century, and suspected to originate much earlier, nuuttipukki appears on Saint Knut’s Day, January 13, the end of the Christmas season in Finland" "he has come to slurp your booze and feast on scraps. You must let him in" If my links worked I would have offered you one, but you can copy/paste this: https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/nuuttipukki/?fbclid=IwAR0nGpDAMhAP-nk5fNT95A8d7dacq0iovh8tExDVxlTXJL8C94IaQFiAQd8 |

The Shrike, of course. It's from a zoomed in cropping from the cover art of my paperback version of my favorite book of all-time, Dan Simmon's Hyperion.
I have an affinity for the dual nature of Kali: creator and destroyer, as I think s/he a metaphorical mirror image of each and every human being. (I know I've felt myself a destroyer many times despite my best intentions. But then, isn't destruction just the other side of the coin of creation? Can one exist without the other?) And, to my imagination, The Shrike represents one of the coolest manifestation of the Kali energy. Edited by BrufordFreak - December 14 2023 at 11:26 |

I've read Hyperion and "The Fall of Hyperion...twice. The Hyperion books are my all-time favorite sci-fi series. I adore the way Simmon wove Sci-Fi through the vertebra of a Canterbury Tales backbone. My Avatar is my favorite painting by my favorite artist. The painting is Composition VII (1913) by Wassily Kandinsky. I also love Composition IV and VI. My shower curtain is Kandinsky's Composition VI which I posted below: |

The site has an issue with censorship needing to cover nipples to keep 'the powers that be' happy so we end up marring perfectly good art. My avatar was a protest against that, I like it so I kept it.

Excellent album but I think you're a bit biased towards it, overgloryfying it in the majority of your forums posts. :P But tbh there's nothing wrong with it. I used to be obsessed with Tai Phong's debut circa 2015-2017 in a similar way. Just sharing my observation lol. No offense. |

In case anybody wondered, this is Holger Czukay of Can (the cover of Der Osten ist Rot, which, I've got to say, is quite far from his best, but some of his better albums have rather unattractive covers), my favourite musician. Rest in Peace Holger!
By the way, most here know Can of course, but his solo work is far less known, and some of it is very unique and of spectacular quality, if not for everyone. Edited by Lewian - December 14 2023 at 16:09 |

Still image from Primus - Lacquerhead music video. Great song (from a disappointing album), great video and fun image.
