I love the Lockdown Session versions. Almost perfect, and I'm quite disappointed of the DSOTM Redux style in comparison. Would have been awesome to hear DSOTM in Lockdown Session style ...

^^ Thanks. This is the place to be to experience positive vibes and let the love flow for Roger's wonderful lifetime of music. I generally avoid the negative Roger Waters threads, of which there are several. They're all just Waters under the bridge to me. Tongue

Yes, The Lockdown Sessions turned out to be much much better than I expected, especially after reading some of the negative comments regarding Roger's reworked version of Dark Side of the Moon, which I've still yet to hear in full. Here's a reminder of Two Suns in the Sunset - my favourite song from The Lockdown Sessions, where it's the two angelic backing singers who really turn the song into something very special indeed. Heart

The sublime Live version of Perfect Sense, featuring P.P Arnold and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals. Heart

This is it! Roger Waters' long-awaited remake of Dark Side of the Moon has finally arrived, celebrating the 50th anniversary of this iconic album. But, dare I say it, Roger's redux version is just a tad disappointing - even by my own low standards of awarding every other prog album a  5-star rating - and where Roger's tired and listless performance gives new meaning to the word "lethargic".  Confused

Does "Going Solo' mean becoming self-centered ?

^ No. But if you don't like Roger Waters, you can choose to see it that way.

5 stars 1990: Roger Waters - The Wall - Live in Berlin - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyGHs2yXwu1Sg4DXha46hfqGs6LarGe8w

Roger Waters & Joni Mitchell (and one or two others) - The Tide is Turning for a new appreciation of Roger Waters' music in the wake of his marvellous Lockdown Sessions album. It's just a pity Roger had to then go and ruin it by doing a somewhat less than brilliant redux version of Dark Side of the Moon. As Mike mentioned earlier, if only the DSOTM redux had been as awesome as The Lockdown Sessions, it could've Breathed new life into a classic album which has really stood the test of Time fifty years on. Could've, Would've, Should've. Oh well, C'est La Vie, as we say in England. I guess Roger was just having One of Those Days, again.  Smile

Well I’m not disappointed with the REDux. I think it is unique and has its place.

Certainly more in love with “the lockdown sessions. “
That is such a gem musically. Very well done.
“The Bravery of being out of range” on that disc is one of the best things he’s done in an extremely long time.
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

I'd forgotten just what a wonderful song that is. Thanks for the reminder. Thumbs Up

I’m just gonna come right out and say it. I think “Amused to Death “ (1992) is R. Waters best album.
My 2nd favourite may surprise many on here, but Radio K.A.O.S I think is absolutely awesome and gets my runner up.

The pros of going solo indeed.

^ I'm more of a fan of Roger Waters' amazing Live shows where they're all 5-star favourites for me. Thumbs Up

Roger Waters & Joni Mitchell (again) - Goodbye Blue Sky (which seems strangely inappropriate today when it's bright and sunny outside). Smile

^ It's funny how the music of Roger Waters - the grumpy old man of prog - always leaves me with a smile on my face, despite (or maybe because of) his curmudgeonliness. Tongue

5 stars 2023: Roger Waters - This is Not a Drill: Live in Prague - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDXojvpCl2I

The indefatigable and irrepressible Roger Waters is back again with a new Prague Spring in his step in 2023, where it's a case of catch him while you can, because This is Not a Drill, This is the Real Thing in its entirety, which could be removed from YouTube again at any moment. Geek
