I really like Ok Computer, but I consider it a commercial album, and if I were to rank 90's albums critically it wouldn't be in the top places. I remain convinced that the best of Radiohead are the first albums, especially The Bends and Ok Computer. I consider Kid A, hailed by Italian and partly European critics as a masterpiece, as the new Sgt Pepper, one of the most overrated albums in music history (and in fact many critics have changed their mind). Personally, I think that apart from a few notable songs (and a masterpiece song: try to guess which one) it is a not entirely successful album and in the following years Radiohead have done better, sometimes. RYM adds up the votes of its participants, to get its rankings, and often the result is influenced by global success. The presence of Radiohead and Pink Floyd, for example, is disproportionate. Even Progarchives sometimes reflects the musical tastes of its participants. For example I doubt that a European prog site would have so many Rush albums in the top 30 (or 50?) (I, incidentally, contributed my vote to lower the charts of some of these albums). On the other hand, sometimes some very refined groups, which would deserve critical acclaim, are not present in the ranking: perhaps because they are not prog in the strict sense and remain cult groups (Tortoise, Tim Buckley). I looked at the PA ranking from the nineties. In the top 100 there are a lot of albums that I've never heard. I've heard others but I don't consider them great albums, especially the heavy metal ones (Opeth, Gorguts, Death, Atheist). I really like the albums by Cardiacs, Art Zoyd, Marillion, Sigur Ros, Ozric Tentacles. I would certainly put the Tortoises and Tori Amos and Mark Hollis albums on the list. Ok Computer: I would put it but not in the first places. I like Dream Theater or, to be precise, I recognize their greatness in having combined prog and heavy metal with beautiful melodies and good (sometimes too much) virtuosity, and I would certainly put one or two of their albums in the first 20 or 30. Edit: If I consider Italian music, in the 90's there are some masterpieces: - CCCP. Etica Epica Etnica Pathos - CSI: Linea Gotica - Fabrizio De André: Anime Salve - Francesco Guccini: Stagioni etc. I posted some songs taken from these albums in the Interactive Polls.

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.
