Well, PAers, there we go again. After non-Prog '70s and '80s, how about the '90s.

I can say that I find them quite exiting, and here's my list:

Babes in Toyland  (USA)  -  Fontanelle  (1992)

Brygada Kryzys  (PL)  -  Cosmopolis  (1992)

The Cure  (UK)  -  Wish   (1992)

Deep Forest  (F)  -  Boheme  (1995)

Trilok Gurtu  (India)  -  The Glimpse   (1996)

PJ Harvey  (UK)  -  To Bring You My Love  (1995)

Hedningarna  (S)  -  Karelia Visa  (1999)

Kyuss  (USA)  -  Sky Valley  (1994)

Massive Attack  (UK)  -  Mezzanine (1998)

Nirvana  (USA)  -  In Utero  (1993)

Portishead  (UK)  -  Roseland NYC Live  (1998)

Shellac  (USA)  -  At Action Park  (1994)

Sonic Youth (USA) - Experimental Jet Set...  (1994)

Unkle  (UK)   -  Psyence fiction   (1998)

a couple additional

Fugazi  (USA)  -  Repeater   (1990)

Soundgarden  (USA)  -  Badmotorfinger  (1991)

Enjoy yourself, brothers and sisters!  Handshake

These three right off the top of my head, not only my 90s non-prog favourites, but among my all-time favs:

PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love
Sonic Youth - Dirty
Tom Waits - Bone Machine

also:

Einstürzende Neubauten - Ende Neu
Jesus Lizard - Goat
Melvins - Houdini and Stoner Witch

+ loads of Finnish albums no one abroad has heard of
+ loads of early 90s death and black metal albums

edit: added some

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Not listed on PA, every artist once, 1990-1995 (that's well enough to get to 15 with excellent albums)

Seigmen - Metropolis
Scorn - Gyral
Cpt. Kirk & - Reformhoelle
Killing Joke - Extremities, Dirt, and Various Regressed Emotions
Blumfeld - L'Etat Et Moi
Comsat Angels - The Glamour
Shudder To Think - Get Your Goat
Suzanne Vega - Days of Open Hand
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol. II
Tear Garden - The Last Man To Fly
The Cure - Wish
Nirvana - Nevermind
The Grassy Knoll - s/t
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Geteilte Koepfe - Don't Ask

(Edit: I had to kick Astor Piazzolla out as that was 1986. I even had already listed it in the eighties; it ended up here because the edition that I have in my machine is dated 1990.)

You can suprise me a bit with this one, but it confirms me in liking it, as this album has been rather critically received among "feinschmeckers".

I like plenty of non-gourmet music, punk, blues, grunge amongst the more esoteric
