Please tell me all of the pioneers of female-fronted hard-rock and female-fronted metal! I'm mainly interested in artists who were around before the year 2000. Thank you very much in advance!

Girl School and Joan Jett.
I don't remember what The Runaways sounded like (her first band), but Jett on her own was into hard rock.
Wendy Williams of The Plasmatics.

I'm interested in artists from the 1990s too!  The 1990s ended 21 years ago.

As far as I know, female-fronted metal began in 1995 when The Gathering released their album "Mandylion".

You need to go back a lot further than that.  Girlschool was considered a metal band, they were all female and they started sometime in the late 70's.  There might have been others even before that.

At the front end of the 70's you had Fanny & Birtha who were all female rock bands, plus the blues rock bands Vinegar Joe and Stone the Crows who were female fronted (by Elkie Brooks and Maggie Bell Respectively).

I forgot to mention heavy prog band Babe Ruth, fronted by the lovely Jenny Haan, and here in the archives.

The first person that came to my mind was Suzi Quatro.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Slightly more obscure from the early 70's Mama Lion a hard blues rock band fronted by the gorgeous Lynn Carey existed briefly, and made a couple of very decent albums.

If it is of interest to the OP, an extensive discussion already exists regarding the wonderful ladies of prog.
