Steve, regarding your mention of Chris Squire - Fish Out of Water a few posts back, I love that album. Got the Japanese CD version of that and you are right, a great addition to the Yes catalog!
Nick's and Dave's mention of Vangelis gives me a hankerin to get back into his stuff, been awhile. And Nick, I agree with you, Direct is one of his I really like. It was an album that started me back onto my prog roots in the early 90's when I was into mostly classical, jazz, and what was termed then as new age (which Vangelis fell into according to the music stores then). Got into The City and Voices during that period. Love most of his stuff anyway. Good to see Sagi drop in also, I only recognized a couple of the artist you mentioned .

Klaus Schulze | La Vie Electronique, Vol. 1 — collection of unreleased stuff from his earliest period - by my ear, his first album. 3 full discs worth. And it’s all really good. Prolific dude.
Boards of Canada | The Campfire Headphase - need more of this band. I’ve had this for years, but nothing else from them. It’s really hit the spot on recent listens Peter Hammill | The Future Now - one of his best. Love his solo albums, they almost always show a lot of creative fire Animal Collective | Feels — lovely experimental rock with a folky pastoral slant Kluster | Klopfzeichen — 1970 debut. Dark avant garde sound paintings Bill Orcutt & Jacob Felix Heule | Colonial Donuts - improvisational guitar/percussion explorations. Orcutt (guitar) is one of the guys in my avatar actually Edited by HolyMoly - April 29 2021 at 20:00 |

Shiver me timbers! Several furry PA specimen like Sagi, Greg, Jim, Samuel, Nick and Steve gathered together in a thread and grooving with discs
Very nice to see you lads I know this is last minute and all this Toyota Corolla business still is fecking this up, but if you’re anywhere near Aalborg you’re very welcome to drop by for some 15 year old rum, hefty tunes and possibly a banana. I just ate two bananas so bear with me. Bear with me..heh. Grizzly, spectacled or red panda style? Yesterday: Gorillaz - s/t Fleet Foxes - Shore (first spin..and it was excellent. My mind did wander though but not because of the music being tedious, quite the opposite. I went ‘somewhere’ slightly warmer and welcoming than their last effort Crack-Up..which I also love) The Cure - Faith (I’ve really missed this sucker!) The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (this was such a brilliant revisit. Definitely doing that again soon. I actually remember seeing them live on this tour) Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. Tears For Fears - The Seeds Of Love Hatfield and the North - The Rotters’ Club Aphex Twin - Drukqs (cd 1) Edith: Steve. I see you tripping the old light fantastic with some beepers of electro albums. If you dig Campfire Headcase then there’s a good chance you’ll dig the rest. Perhaps start out with Geogaddi Also nice Klopfzeichen shout out there. Wonderful music to clear out a tupperware party I find. Edited by Guldbamsen - April 30 2021 at 04:04 |

And a nice endorsement from Jim as well. No surprise really. It’s that good. And David: I would love to return to Denmark - as I described to you in years past, the time I spent there was among the most influential experiences of my life. I even saw my first concert there (Camel, 1982, Oddfellows Palais, at the age of 12). And to visit you there would truly be grand. Likewise if your journeys take you to the US, I can only hope you’d consider the Atlanta area as a visiting spot, despite the risk of getting shot (just duck, it works for me). Let’s see. A bit weird today: The Dead C | The White House - grinding amp noise and loony occasional voices setting a lysergic mood only they can provide Porcupine Tree | Up the Downstair (2004 version) - wow, long time for this one. Gong | Magick Brother — aw... long time for this one too. Takes me back to my post-college years. Discovering all sorts of music and spending what little money I had on acquiring it Factrix | California Babylon Factrix | Scheintot - an early 80s post punk group from San Francisco. Reminds me most of Throbbing Gristle, but with a guitar/bass/drums lineup. Rarely do they sound like a rock band, it’s all dark noise and scary vocals. Fairport Convention | s/t — always my first choice with Fairport. Maybe I’m not the best fan. This is more rock folk than folk rock, and kinda psych too. But pretty and quiet. Like early Jefferson Airplane perhaps. No Sandy Denny yet but Judy Dyble does more than a good job, as does Ian McDonald (later Ian Matthews I think?) Edited by HolyMoly - April 30 2021 at 18:04 |

^^ Haha!! Duck!! Dave is a real mensch. No one would dare shoot the smooth Danish man. Lol.
Okay. Went down a Sisters of Mercy rabbit hole last night. Bought all the 2006 remastered and expanded editions of the albums and I couldn’t be happier. Surprisingly these definitive editions have been around since 2006. Anyhow, I love the extra track content and as a sisters fan you long and crave for all the material you can get. There isn’t much, especially released officially or professionally. Sisters of mercy — First, last & Always, floodland and Vision thing ( 4 hrs of music and I still wasn’t done. I’m getting my stamina back. The kid is getting older, so I’m getting stronger. Lol) Symphony X— Paradise Lost ( God. This album is fast. Romeo is a speed guitar freak on this. ) Paradise Lost— Obsidian ( I think this is a perfect album for me. Paradise Lost put all the elements that make them great into this album. The appeal is lasting. ) Saga— Worlds Apart ( absolutely love this one. And it calmed me down from metal mania. ) ...end of transmission. |

Zappa/Mothers | Road Tapes Vol 1 (Vancouver, 1968) - pretty exemplary set of the early Mothers. Has an early version of “Holiday in Berlin” that is for some reason still named “Shortly” at this time. The highlight for me is the Black>Harry>orange>OhNo>Orange medley
Mr. Partridge | Take Away/The Lure of Salvage - 1980 solo Andy Partridge. Just remixing/dub-ifying XTC tracks but pretty cool in an historical sense. We’ll see if it grows on me but the general critical opinion classifies this as an indulgent mess. It probably sounds better on weed. The Raisins | s/t — The future Bears! Found their Belew-produced LP yesterday (along with the Partridge above and Frith below). Great power pop album. Fred Frith | Guitar Solos — big find yesterday on original LP Fripp & Eno | Evening Star — for relaxation time today. My 51 year old body gets tired and sore easily. Art Fleury | I Luoghi del Potere - great abstract avant Italian that helped me get some work done this afternoon Secret Oyster | Vidunderlige Kaelling (aka Astarte) — honestly one of my favorite prog bands ever. The fact they played ProgDay and I missed it will always haunt me Spirit | Spirit of ‘76 — spiritual Spirit. Randy and Cass finding the intersection between blissful dream pop and Jimi Hendrix U2 | Live at the Marquee, London 1980 — a limited edition double 10” LP I got out of luck. My friend got it somehow and just wanted an mp3 copy of it (he has no turntable) and said I could have it if I could make him a digital copy. I did. And this thing is incredible. If you like “Boy” era U2, this should kick your ass. |

It’s a little funny Steve. I remember you mentioning that Camel gig before but even more so the Oddfellow palais. Back when I was a little kid..though a tad later than 82..I lived on a street called Taxvej which was right next to this huge mansion named Oddfellow. It could be a wonderful future pseudo-prog adventure ‘Finding Oddfellow to the soothing sounds of Camel’ [<:o)]
When all this nonsense is over with I’d love to (finally) visit America. Atlanta is on the way to the Pacific ocean so I would probably swing by for some tunes and preferably the low-down on Ariel Pink Last couple of days: Archimedes Badkar - ll Terry Riley - In C Magma - 1001 Centigrades Klaus Schulze - Audentity Aphex Twin - Drukqs Caravan - For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night Procession - Frontiera The KLF - Chill Out The Cure - Faith Comet Is Coming - The Afterlife Die Wilde Jagd - s/t COS - Viva Boma The Stranglers - Black & White Kevin Ayers - Whatevershebringswesing Simple Minds - New Gold Dream The Heliocentrics - A World Of Masks Supersister - Iskander |

Guerilla Toss | Twisted Crystal - their last full-length so far. Hope they keep it up - it’s been 2-3 years.
Jethro Tull | A - always liked this one, but rarely play it. Considering getting the new SW box set. Hawkwind | PXR5 — Calvert-era madness. Lots of new-wave edge in this version of the band. R. Stevie Moore | my own compilation 2CD — I hope to convince RSM to release this compilation as his own some day. I think it’s a pretty damn fine mix myself, and includes some weirder stuff that most of his comps don’t touch (e.g. Apologies to Mr. Gottlieb). But it still hits plenty of his more popular numbers Passengers | Original Soundtracks 1 — U2 and Brian Eno collab, circa Zooropa. It’s aged well. Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti | Lover Boy — the man, the myth, the MAGA sympathizer. Can’t understand what he saw in Tr**p but I’ll never stop loving his music Big Boys | The Fat Elvis — Austin TX funky punk band from the fertile 80s. Television | s/t — classy reunion album from the early 90s that doesn’t sound anything like their 70s albums but serves their legacy well. Couldn’t have asked for a better return. PFM | Suonare Suonare— a poppier version of PFM. Lovely songs though, and not yet infected with 80s production woes. Edited by HolyMoly - May 05 2021 at 10:05 |
