Winter or Summer

I definitely choose winter; but if I were living in Yakutsk, I might reconsider my decision. 

For those who don't give a f**k, I added some other options.

Depends on where you are. In Canada summers aren't bad, but in Texas they are brutal. Summer also has flies, ticks, and mosquitoes. Lovely creatures, aye?

I love cloudy weather, but hate getting soaked. Mud? Every reasonable human being has gotta hate walking through the muddy areas.

Climate change is real. Hurricane's, tornadoes, floods, wildfires, record high and low temperatures, and mandatory blackouts are the future.

We may not have the sustained heat of Texas but we still see weeks at a time of 40 deg C weather and have had our share of droughts. And yea, we got the insects, not just flies. DEER flies, and they suck, literally. We experience some of the most extreme weather the planet has to offer over the course of a year. It helps us keep perspective.

Summer....but then I'm old and the cold is getting hard to handle.

Growing up in British Columbia, winter was my favourite. Well, I liked summer just about as much. We had ski mountains close by and I skied every chance I got — at least until a ski racing accident slowed me down. Also went up to Whistler and Blackcomb regularly. I also loved the summer, mostly for sailing, climbing, mountain biking and kayaking. I was very much an outdoors person. Nowadays summers feel much too hot to me, winters are just plain miserable, and the rest of the year is best not talked about.

I used to do the same up at Blue Mountain in Collingwood. Then, one day, a young girl (I'm guessing 7 or 8 yr old) skied right across my path while I was snowboarding and I had to ditch to basically save her life. I ended up dislocating my shoulder. It was made clear to me by my more rational half that perhaps I wasn't as young and indestructible as I used to be. Hiking and biking is the wild life I live now.
