That's true, although I wasn't surprised to see Love Beach at the bottom of Pete Pardo's ELP list, where the only album rankings we (almost) agreed on were the debut album and In the Hot Seat. The Love Beach album would have just crept into my Top 5 though if I hadn't included the Emerson, Lake & Powell and Pictures at an Exhibition albums in my listing.

Pardo's rankings aren't too far off where I would put mine. I would move Trilogy up into spot #2 and I believe would rate Love Beach higher than Black Moon and In the Hot Seat, but I'd have to listen to them again and I don't really want to.
If I included ELPowell, I would rank it above Works 2, the 3 album would be a notch lower than Black Moon. Pictures at an Exhibition would be a notch above Works 1.

I think the vast majority of PA members would be in general agreement with Pete Pardo's ELP rankings, although I doubt if anyone would agree with my bizarre rankings.

Yes, that's exactly right, unless I happen to own the albums already. In the case of ELP, I only have their first self-titled album on CD, and I listened to all of ELP's other albums for the first time on YouTube over the last three days. At the end of the day though, Pete Pardo's sensible rankings are more important than my bizarre album rankings. I just hurriedly throw my album listings together in a haphazard fashion and offer them as a comparison, at the risk of being ridiculed.

^Well that's definitely a start. You may eventually change your mind about some of the albums with repeated listens. Mileage may vary.

I've learned a lot about ELP over the last three days and I'm now eager to go out and buy the Works 1 and Black Moon albums, which are both 5-star albums for me. I'll probably give the much-maligned Love Beach album a miss though. It's good, but it's not that good that I'd want to rush out and buy the album.

I'm fine with any order of the Moody's first 7 albums (the one's starting with Days Of Future Passed and ending with Seventh Sojourn). They're all classics. Provided that they're ranked higher than the 80's albums.

If I hadn't included the Hayward & Lodge Blue Jays album in my Moody Blues list, it would have been an almost perfect match between Pete Pardo's list and mine, for the first time ever.
