    Posted: December 07 2020 at 09:40
I know this may be Second Hand News by now, and maybe you Don't Want to Know, but I've heard Rumours that Fleetwood Mac have got back together again with a new line-up, following the departure of Lindsey Buckingham. It looks as if Lindsey's Never Going Back Again, but the two long-standing Fleetwood Mac Songbirds are still there in the line-up - who could forget Christine McVie's heartfelt rendition of Oh Daddy, or the emotive appeal of Stevie Nicks' Gold Dust Woman, amongst The Chain of hit songs and albums from Fleetwood Mac throughout the 1970's and 80's. There were Rumours that Christine McVie's song - You Make Loving Fun - was dedicated to her dog, as she was having an extra-marital affair with the band's lighting technician at the time and didn't want to cause any unnecessary flare-ups with her then-husband John McVie. Smile

I Don't Stop thinking about new ideas for music polls, so here's a chance to name your Top 7 Fleetwood Mac albums, or maybe you'd prefer to follow your Dreams and Go Your Own WayTongue

I'm not really familiar with enough to have a top 7, or even a top 3 but Tusk would be in my top 1.

I can't make a top 7 because i rarely listen to FM these days and when I do it's the Peter Green lead FM that gets my attention. Pre- Nicks  + Buckingham anyway.

I have a FM best of somewhere but I don't remember when I last listened to it. Most songs there are overplayed anyway...

Not enough of a fan to do a top 7 unfortunately, but I do like "Rumours" - great album with a fascinating back story behind it of all the internal shenanigans - love it

Sorry to be Captain Obvious again, but I'd recommend the first Greatest Hits album if you want to listen to the best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. The album has the added bonus of including "Albatross" and several other well-known songs, which don't appear on any Fleetwood Mac studio album. Smile

You have not understood my post? I said I listen to Peter Green's FM. Nicks/Buckingham FM is overplayed, I don't need to listen any time soon.

I've been listening to early FM since i was a teenager.
so yeah, definitely captain Obvious...

Well for those of you who do like the Buckingham-Nicks era FM, you might want to check out the album Buckingham-Nicks if you can get hold of it. It has some brilliant songs including a better (imo) version of "Crystal" which turned up on "Fleetwood Mac".

Well... to be honest I'm old school in that I don't get into the more mainstream modern rock stuff very much but prefer the original blues and classic rock things from the old days. I did own the first 2 with Nicks when they came out but after the initial fanfare and radio overkill I never played them. I will say there are some nice non commercial tracks here and there by Buckingham but the radio stuff is simply not of interest to me.

Fair enough. If Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac is more to your tastes, Then Play On. Smile

I often marvel at how good Tango in the Night was, coming out 10 years later than Rumours and I'm probably more likely to listen to it than Rumours these days.
