I unironically like Britney Spears.

When she first came onto the scene, I was a pre-teen girl, so obviously it appealed to me at that time.

And you know, nostalgia and i'm a product of my time, so I would happily listen to Britney or the Spice Girls and then go listen to VDGG or Magma.

It's all good in my book.
I used to like Culture Club, Dollar, Gary Glitter and the Bay City Rollers, but don't tell anyone. Wink

^ It's a bit of a grey (or Dark)  area but I think it can be either interpretation: I have the album on CD and on the front cover it says "The Dark Side of the Moon", but on the spine of the CD cover and on the CD itself it simply says "Dark Side of the Moon", so I don't think there's any right or wrong way to list the album. I hope that helps. Smile

That's weird, and I had noticed that before but forgot to take action.   I've always thought it was The Dark Side of the Moon and that's how others list it including PF's official site. For such a famous band and album, that's an odd mistake to be there and last even without the title on the cover.  I looked back at archived snapshots from about a decade ago and it didn't have the "The" then either. I will correct it.

I wish somebody translated the lyrics. The Russian lyrics tell a story of a collective farm (kolkhoz) that produces manure (navoz), and there are many great lines later on...
I'll have to ask my Latvian sister-in-law to translate the lyrics for me. Smile

Not planning on deleting my pointless videos though! Unless Logan hides them...

^^* I definitely am an introvert but have the advantage (and shame and sadness) of full-well knowing how I upset others.  When I was younger I loved fighting on the internet.  My worst flamewar insult might have been "I've seen turds in the toilet bowl with more wit than you."  I was so very arrogant, now I'm just kind of arrogant.

^^ I'm all smiles.

I am the one annoyed (for lack of a better word) by famous songs videos, especially studio versions, it's simply a pointless thing to do, hasn't everyone heard those songs, who is the video posted for? Confused The simple mention of those songs should be enough.

Which is why I wrote "The last and only time I listened to A Momentary Lapse of Reason was in 1989, and despite being rather inebriated at the time,  I remember that night quite well. "On the Turning Away" I know very well because it got so much airplay here back when I would still listen to rock radio, but Signs of Life I did not readily remember.  I would not expect everyone to know or remember such music well or so-well that a reminder might be of no benefit ... That which is pointless to you or to me may not be pointless to all others. I find that kind of assumptive thinking quite arrogant.  When we get annoyed, often the problem isn't with others, it's with us."

I found the claim that it is pointless to be a problematic assertion.  That, said, I will assume that the videos are posted more for Paul by Paul than for anybody else.  We tend to be rather selfish posters who do it for our own benefit, even when we feel like we don't want to.  I don't enjoy doing moderation, but have discomfort when I don't.  Sometimes I do it very badly which make me feel terrible.

I like to say, feel free to speak your mind, but mind your speech.  I often feel like I'm walking on eggshells here.  Heck, I have said some very controversial things before, hold some controversial views, and taken controversial actions.  Trying to live in a polite society where we can express our ideas and be genuine can be very difficult.

I like to see diversity of opinion -- that lends itself to more interesting discussions and I know that I like to have my notions challenged and I do change my mind about things and can come to appreciate different perspectives especially when thoughtfully expressed.  I am not one who should say that we should always avoid causing offence, and I am a great believer in freedom of speech (within certain limits), fighting bad ideas with good ideas....

I have always watched my language when i post and I've never premeditatedly hurt anyone. I too believe it's not just what you say that matters but how you say it. I choose my words carefully when i post and sometimes with a little bit of difficulty since I am a bit of an introvert.

I don't know what's going on and how I end up upsetting others.  Makes little sense to me. Confused

I don't see value to the topic or discussion in bringing two "Pointless" videos into this  Pink Floyd topic.  I'd rather people try to make a point rather than just repeat a gag (and I'm one who can appreciate off-topic conversation).  There, I expressed my honest opinion.  Rebuttal?
