Is this some kind of deprecating joke? Sanchez's lyrics are a little strange in style and delivery I'll grant you, but he was born and raised in New York.

Never really liked the "Thrash Metal Big 4" term, I think one band was clearly less interesting and THRASH than other ones... but it's not about my opinion, it's about sales. Which is useless in itself. Pink Floyd probably owns next 4, 6, 8 or even 10 prog bands combined - save for 80s Genesis which was a huge commercial act itself. Quality wise, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. For me, Big Six in Prog would be KC, Genesis, Yes, VDGG, PF and Jethro. Pink Floyd being maybe the least listened to, so I could see Gentle Giant or Rush overtaking it.

I wondered the same thing. It might be Richard's little joke.

Could be. I'm not sure why anyone would want Coheed and Cambria on any big six list though. They must be one of the worst modern bands I've heard.

Yes we CAN!! My friend...you would be shocked at my record collection . As I have mentioned many times my musical journey started with R&B/Funk as a kid, that music led me to progressive rock. CAN took me years to understand, it's not that I did not like the music, for sure its out there, but I knew there was something more to get. And I am glad that I did not try and force the issue, I let it flow brother...thru my speakers and its awesome! What did it for me was when I started to listen to them in the same manner as I listen to George Clinton...it was an aha moment! I have 9 of their albums and still need Babaluma and Landed, I only do vinyl so I just need to order them.
