Land of the Lost. OMG, forgot this one.  So bad, it’s good.LOL  Banjos also made me think of another banjo-centric theme song on TV, The Beverly Hillbillies.

nearly did myself... until someone posted something in last couple of pages that jogged the ol' noggin and made me remember it... as I noted to Greg.. I dismissed the movie version of this almost as soon as I heard ot if. Supposely they did a modern (90's) TV reboot of this but again.. never heard of it till this morning.. much less ever seeing it.

don't forget it isn't just the banjo... note the ELP influenceLOL

and come on...  the T-Rex turn your head and roar at the end...absolutely classic!!!!

oh..and not to be lost in the longer vid George posted earlier... this one was even deeper in the memory bank but as soon as it started I said to myself.. OMG..

Hi,

I do NOT, and can NOT, differentiate between the two, specially when so many of the musicians involved are also doing so many other things ... heck, I might as well mention a very famous cartoon that had music by a guy that had a band that did a lot of things ... but folks here hate cartoons, and the progressive-ness and inventive-ness of the whole thing, which helped make "modern music" better received since the wild goings on, many times, were making fun of orchestra movements and music in general.

TV and movies ... if you are a composer, and care for what you do, it won't matter the medium ... it could even be your album!

Please stop "separating" music into this and that ... in the end it is all MUSIC!

PS: Now le me see if I can score some of that invisible dope people use to find differences in MUSIC that you or I as a composer, would NEVER EVER FOREVER make!

PS2: Btw, I haven't had a TV in my place for 20+ years, and I do not miss it ... so anything that is supposedly just TV related doesn't really exist in my life. It's my way of dealing with the commerciality of it all.

You are a loon. Straight up, ready for Depends and man-baby daycare. These folks are having a poll about TV and what TV show soundtracks were most memorable to them. Since you admit to not having a TV set this century, whatever it is you are babbling about does not need to be in this thread. It is irrelevant. It is unnecessary. It is idiotic.

Speaking for myself, I love cartoons.

I probably learned about classical music and opera through Bugs Bunny.

I love lots of anime. Death Note may be my very favourite animated TV series (nah, it is my favourite, I have only watched it in Japanese with English subs). I love that show. This could have been my choice (so many I love that I didn't want to mention them all). It has a Tubular Bells-like theme:

And this:

The whole soundtrack and show I love!

By the way, there is so much great TV of the last 20 years. With streaming there's more variety out there than ever. I like my big-screen, I like having various streaming subscription services, and there is so much to watch just off your Laptop or iPad. And one can get a wide variety from around the world. I don;t think of TV as a lesser art form to feature cinema. And TV/ streaming shows attracts great writers and directors. I think those who would poo poo it are generally very ignorant. Like with film, like with music, like with novels, there is huge variety for different tastes from around the world of different quality and qualities. Like with other media forms, some is more commercial and will have a wider mainstream appeal than others.

P.S. I thought the Netflix movie version of Death Note sucked.

Hi dear friends...

The last days I have been very busy ... now I read a bit of comments and say to you the song I choose

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

Ok, here I go.

My nomination is Randy Newman's theme for Monk: It's a jungle out there, extended version:

You are right, it was hard for me to decide which one to go with.  My personal favorite is the entire soundtrack of Perpetual Grace which is all done by The Jones Sisters (the entire album is excellent), but in the end, I decided to go with Boardwalk Empire because it was the best for bringing about the atmosphere of the series.  I love all of them for different reasons.

Westworld, season one especially, is one of my favourites (now that's a great one that had had an earlier visual made of it-- Fargo too). Great soundtrack in Westworld, and in how they adapted popular music for it such as The Rolling Stones Paint It Black: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ljiTS-3Xlk

How did I ever forget to put this one up?  It's also one of my favorites, and I do love how they adapt popular music, I also noticed they adapted Radiohead along the way too.

I really did like that one.. not quite enough to make a top 3.. but was a top 5'r

too funny.. I wasn't going to because I thought the one you had said had aleady been play-listed by George.. but coincidences being what they are.. as I typed this reply..Verano Azul came on as Raff was doing a refresher listen so I guess it did make it onto the youtube playlist so yeah.. changed it in the poll options. Good move. .it was the better piece of music IMO haha Beer

1 - Lucidity Gone
2 - Irwin Schmidt
3 - the cross eyed Lion

having already done comments I'll just rank them

Mike - the Iris Dement song would have taken the number 3 vote if selected. I really really liked that.. but not a bad selection anyway.. the Boardwalk Empire one came out as #5 and perhaps suffered a bit of a place or two deduction from one being of the few I knew prior to the poll

#4 was Matador..  again.. next time man.. cats.. not dogs...and if not cats.. then cross eyed lions. 1 slot deduction

#6 was Verano Azul
#7 was  The Leftovers
#8 BoJacks Theme
9) La Piovra
10) Twin Peaks Theme
11) Hawaii 5-0   ... top 5'r alltime but I'd probably heard it more than a few times haha
12) Cowboy Bebop
13) It's A Jungle Out There

and last and least LOL
14) Black Hand..
