Here's a playlist for the selections. I put in Happy Days for Lorenzo. Will update if that changes.

Micky, I was going to post that Land of the Lost clip, even had prepared my post but then didn't as at the time I was worried about overwhelming the thread. That is a favourite of mine and I loved the show as a kid and have re-watched it all as an adult. I tried to watch the 2000s film version with Will Ferrell, but couldn't get through it. It lacked the sense of deep mystery and wonder that the series had, and they went a screwball comedy parody route. Yeah the original is fairly kitsch, but it genuinely meant a great deal to me as a child and continues to do so. Land of the Lost is part of my DNA, and is the first show I can remember loving. Filmmakers have gone that route with a number of remakes. With the Land of the Lost movie, it alienated me as one who loved the original as it was just a very loose parody, and I doubt it would have appealed much to those (who would be most to see it I would think) who hadn;t seen the original. Weird one to remake. HBO could do a good job of remaking the show, I think.
Speaking of HBO, this is one of my absolute favourite pieces of music and I don;t know why I didn't think to post this before(sometimes I just gotta do down the ramble hole to start associating). I am kind of tempted to change to this, but I won't cause I like how unusual my Utopia pick is amongst the others. Westworld, season one especially, is one of my favourites (now that's a great one that had had an earlier visual made of it-- Fargo too). Great soundtrack in Westworld, and in how they adapted popular music for it such as The Rolling Stones Paint It Black: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ljiTS-3Xlk Hardly original music for the show, but I got chills with Penderecki's "Threnody for Hiroshima" as used for the the, I think excellent, season three of 2017's Twin Peaks (that was an awesome way to continue a series/ and the 90s film, imo). Very trippy, that episode was a masterpiece. Brought Eraserhead to mind. For fans of Twin Peaks back in the day, you're missing out if you didn't catch the 25 years later show. And for those that missed Twin Peaks, pretty good chance you've missed out (could be a bit dark for some tastes). Loving this series, by the way, as I am a big TV buff. That said, it's hard for me to get into most anything new these days -- my tastes definitely lean to the quirky unusual. I really feel the need to discover a new-to-me series that will totally engage me. Really getting into Twin Peaks recently was fantastic, and as I have said, better late than never. I am glad I went back to the beginning to give it all the proper attention it deserved as I hadn't really got into it originally as I had only caught it on and off. Binging is my preferred way to watch series when I can find the time. |

Awesome, thanks! By the way, unless you want to, at some time I might like to do playlists that also cover many of the alternates. I wish I could access my old LoganPA1 youtube account, when I couldn't access that I stopped uploading videos and haven't tried creating playlists. I would like to get into making playlists of all sorts, that would have helped me when making polls here too cause I always want to share that which is special to me. I suspect most.. I did on this one.. just cycled through the pages.. so hopefuly any and all who might vote have already listened to most of these during the week (judging by the comments it seems most did). including all the ones he tossed off. I'll leave his slot open as much as to make clear I'd like to see everyone hold off on voting till he speaks up.. for a day at least...within reason of course as we have to move on to the next one at some point

The next one is due to start on Monday, I believe, but that doesn't mean that everyone must have voted by then. I would rather finalise my votes by tomorrow. I usually like a little breather between listening to music in these polls. By the way, since "Lucidity Gone" is the name of a particular track and not the show (the show incorporates various thematic music), I wonder if you could change it to "Lucidity Gone" from Utopia, or something like that.

I would never worry about overwhelming the thread.. I sat through the vast majority of these last night and it never got to be tiresome..it was a lot of fun... so it the more the merrier. A lot of these I had never seen and heard before and some .. like Land of the Lost.. were buried deep in the memory (Electrawoman and Dynagirl.. f**king A) and needed a mental jog to come back out. i remember some time back hearing about a movie remake of it and promptly gave a mental ..pfffff to it.

yeah.. same here.. voting tomorrow.. I did have 3 standout yesterday. and couple just below them but those first 3 were sort of head and shoulders and you made it easy by sticking with your first choice.. which happened to be my first choice haha. Otherwise the vote for #3 would have been more difficult

I love TV so I love this poll, not just for the music. I wanted to be a TV show writer, mostly in black comedy -- something that obviously didn't work out. It's not easy breaking in if you don't know someone, but I don't think Canada is very good when it comes to TV and I didn't go about things right. I got thrown twice and didn't persevere. Maybe I just lacked the talent, but being a very anxious person did not help.

Hi,
Hmmm ... whatever drug I'm on ... let's see: Hydrochlorothiazide 25Mg Losartran Potassium 100Mg Loratadine 10Mg Aspirin 81Mg Chewable Only drink water and maybe a Diet Coke with no Caffeine in it. Any other drugs? Music, Theater, Film, Books ... and sometimes a good time at the PA faux prog fans house! Haven't toked anything for 45 years, since that politician ruined it all (let them keep smoking and I will win all the elections!) ... and I never got past a few good psychs in the 80's. Played competitive tennis up until my open eye surgery in 2000 to repair a detached retina, now just a piece of plastic that doesn't move as good, so I use sunglasses all the time! I trip HARD to a lot of music ... that Marillion version of Estonia had me hearing it about 10 times in a row, and had me high for several hours. The KIN (Mogwai) soundtrack did the same thing for me. And the Artemiev/Fromadher album also had me flying originally remembering the old Kozmic Couriers a lot ... after that the Thorsten Quaschning (spelling) and Markus Reuter thing ... 49 minutes of an orgasm that Micky hopes for and won't try! The best thing I have heard in the past several years, and it is nothing like TD whatsoever, and TQ maybe doesn't get it that his TD version is going to fall apart if it lacks the symphonic edge that carried it for so long. AND now ... FOR THE STINKER ... I recommend, ZORBA THE GREEK soundtrack for Micky ... only one problem. If you see the movie, Anthony Quinn does not dance nekkid ... and ... well ... so much for a joke!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

^ This poll/topic is intended for TV soundtracks. Zorba the Greek would have been better mentioned in my movie soundtracks. What is the KIN Mogwai soundtrack -- looked it up, see it's a film. I mentioned Mogwai's Les revenants (one of my favourite modern TV series) soundtrack in my original post. Would have been my number two choice.

Watched this every Saturday morning in the 60s. Some very cool jazz basslines and flute for an adolescent cartoon.

Dark Elf. Jonny Quest.
Certainly remember that one, had no idea it didn’t run for very
long. Definitely Hanna-Barbera theme-type
music. |

Another soundtrack is for The Bridge - aka Bron/ Broen (another great modern show:
I thought someone might mention that as I know that I am not the only one who has admired that show in the forum. All my family got into that show independently, but maybe the poppiness would be off-putting to some. Edited by Logan - July 18 2020 at 10:45 |

Video removed for space. Almost missed commenting on this one. Hawaii 5-0, too familiar to vote for me, but
absolute icon in the pantheon of tv theme music.
