I like a lot of tv from around the world. Other than British and US shows, my next biggest country for shows is France. I have quite a few Scandinavian favourites, and right now I'm watching season two of an excellent Korean zombie drama called Kingdom. It would be harder for me if it wasn't so common to subtitle shows from around the world in English. Even as child, I found myself loving lots of subtitled, no English language films (the theatrical release of Das Boot, which is also a TV series that I have seen, and might be my choice for music for the TV one) is what first really got me interested in non-English language films.

yeah...  I would look most forward to your suggestions Greg...  you have always been on top of that stuff and would look forward to all the suggestions you might have.

  Never did meet Madonna or Duran Duran, but met Berlin, as they were "locals," at the time (LA).  We mostly dealt with tour managers, but I did get to meet many others when they came through whichever town we were living in at the time (LA to Denver to Sonoma County to Nashville).  And also had many brushes with fame (or hanging out with fame, mostly the Bill Ward set) when our offices were in The Village Recorder and over at the Hormel Estate.  Bill Ward actually played "drums," on a demo we did with Jano Brindisi (Poll #4), beatbox style, since it's an acoustic piece, "All My Heroes."    We'd had no idea what he'd do, and he was the only drummer I knew at the time that I felt comfortable asking.  Plus, he thought it was funny to play on this one.

Haven[t finalised my thinking, but as some notes of some that stood out:

Eyüp Hamiş - Gel Gör Beni. I loved that, and just because I'm not religious doesn't make any religious music a guilty pleasure. I enjoy choirs, nasheeds, chanting of different kinds. I love a lot of music inspired by religion even if I don't support certain (more orthodox generally) religious attitudes or practices (especially when it comes to less tolerant and more close-minded adherents).

The Monkees - Shades of Gray. The song that inspired 50 Shades of Gray. I'm not monkeying around when I say that I really enjoy that.

For a lot of these songs, I already know them, so I think voting will be more difficult this time.
