The RAH Band - Clouds Across the Moon: - My favourite song by The RAH Band, although in all honesty, that's the only song of theirs I know of.
![]() Madonna - Ray of Light: - The title track from my favourite Madonna album. A-ha - Take on Me: - My favourite A-ha song and it's a great video too. In fact, it's memorable for being the very first video (out of 275,000) that was ever uploaded to my now long-defunct music site: You Tube Episodes & Music.

OK, here are my choices: Madonna - Ray of Light - Not my favourite song by her, but a very nice piece of electronic dance music with a great video and an excellent vocal performance. Eyüp Hami – Gel Gör Beni - A haunting piece of Middle Eastern music, very much in tune with my tastes. CCCP & Amanda Lear - Very intriguing cover of a well-known (at least for us Italians) song. Amanda Lear is a legend, and I've always had a lot of time for her. The Lana Del Rey song is an interesting case. I'd usually be all over an atmospheric song by a lady with a low-pitched voice, but there's something about her that feels contrived - as if she was more of a celebrity than a bona fide musician. I don't know if I'm making any sense ![]() "Take on Me" and "My Lips Are Sealed" are both familiar material - nothing that really appeals to my taste, but not repulsive either. For some odd reason, I find the Sigue Sigue Sputnik more appealing, though on a rational level I know it's awful

going with...
the clear #1 Lana Del Rey.. musically ehh.. but good god almighty.. what a voice. Instantly sucked me in yesterday even while distracted with trolling.. and loved even more with a more focused listen this morning. the WFT #2 selection.. that Osmond song.. never heard it.. and yeah it gets the vote for shear slobknockery and blindsiding you from right fleld with a 2x4. Did not expect to hear that when i turned my head and hit play.. and a big drop off from there but this one i enjoyed more than the rest.. and bumped the Shaggs for the 3rd vote #3 Lena d'Água & Atlântida

For me, the Top Three are actually equals, since I am entering my
favourite novelty piece, favourite “serious,” piece and one for what caused me
the most pain (and only the primary selections of the contributors). I am still sticking to my rule of not voting
for something I was familiar with. I’ve
reprinted what I wrote the first time, but only for the primary selections of
the Top 3, and expounded, or not.
Congratulations to all for this exhaustive playlist
![]() ![]() 1. Fave Novelty Piece: Logan
~ The Shaggs. Definitely wonderful
comedic act. Well, I thought they were, until I looked them up. I have no idea how on earth I missed them prior to this. But they win in this category for me. 2. Fave Serious Piece: Shadowyzard: Eyüp Hamiş - Gel Gör
Beni Probably no surprise to anyone here. I
just love Turkish and other Middle Eastern music, so this was a strong contender
for being a winner from the get-go, since I’m using songs I like in this , (for
whatever reason) with which I was previously unfamiliar. 3. Most Painful Piece: I
prophesy disaster ~ The Osmonds….I just can’t…..Too squeaky-clean for me, even
though my own entrant is The Monkees. And the beginning is so annoying, I had trouble getting past it to listen to the rest more than once. But suffering is good for the soul, so someone said. |

I like a lot of tv from around the world. Other than British and US shows, my next biggest country for shows is France. I have quite a few Scandinavian favourites, and right now I'm watching season two of an excellent Korean zombie drama called Kingdom. It would be harder for me if it wasn't so common to subtitle shows from around the world in English. Even as child, I found myself loving lots of subtitled, no English language films (the theatrical release of Das Boot, which is also a TV series that I have seen, and might be my choice for music for the TV one) is what first really got me interested in non-English language films. |

I'm not against TV shows soundtracks. Discovering some cool song from a TV show is not the problem, that's the idea, I'd probably have some difficulty posting a song. ![]() |

actually Cristi I'd love to see non American TV show selections.. I know of one BBC one I'd toss off in 3 seconds.. but pretty much none else non American. If you knew them of course.. and even if you didn't. Isn't the fun really discovering what you might not know.. even if you might draw a blank yourself for a suggestion. I suspect at some point it might happen to all of us.. just drawing a blank for a suggestion.

I can do the movie one next week, or you do the TV one. I'm actually more excited about your TV idea, so I would be happy if you want to do that next week, and then I can do a film one the following week. Either way is fine by me -- twas an excellent idea, Micky. It might be better actually for you to do it first Micky (with TV), but I want to have the following week lined up. EDIT: Okay, Ill take next week. Tuesday, is, I think, when it starts.

that is why it's a good challenge. Simple rule would be for us to post our choice first, and then discuss and post songs from soundtracks we like. Non-American users (myself included) may not know a lot of TV shows soundtracks. I could be wrong though (maybe it's just me).

I can dig that.. you want to do Movie next week... and I'll claim (if not taken by someone else.. which they would be more than welcome to) the TV soundtrack whenever my turn comes back up.

Would it be too much if we did one in tandem, you with TV (since you mentioned Sopranos) and me with film? I know the one at a time idea, but I would like that for this. Good idea, and then both do soundtracks even if not at the same time. I am inferring that you would want to do the TV one? Anyway, I would happily stick to film. For the TV one, this for me perhaps: Edited by Logan - July 04 2020 at 08:05 |

limit to one... impossible..
which is why a broad soundtracks topic might ... knock the site off its server or some sh*t like that. And yes.. perhaps shoot into 10's of pages and either be impossible to keep track of for those who have to vote... or a real 'job' for the poll starter to do what Geo did and playlist it.
